ERB?

Is it possible (or feasible) to use ERB instead of Haml in
Staticmatic? Although I enjoy using Haml in some situations, I find
it's not great for content creation, which is exactly the kind of site
Staticmatic is aimed at (i.e., small, content-centric, non-dynamic
sites). I know Staticmatic is opinionated about using Haml and Sass,
and also that there are other static site generators that allow use of
ERB, but having tried some of them, they just don't beat the
simplicity of SM.

Thoughts?

It's next on my list of new features. I've been thinking exactly the
same thing. With SCSS now being an extension of CSS, ERB feels like a
better fit.

I'd like to use it for a couple of static sites I have coming up so
watch this space...

Yeah, that was part of my rationale too. I actually really liked the
original Sass syntax, but have switched to using SCSS, despite its
verbosity, because it somehow feels like a very comfortable old pair
of shoes. Plus I like to be in control of my whitespace... which is
why I ultimately find I prefer ERB. What finally made up my mind was
marking up a complex hCard yesterday. The Haml version was driving me
insane - I just couldn't 'see' the markup. So I switched on the :erb
filter and it was just such a massive relief. Surprisingly so
actually. I hadn't realised I missed good old HTML so much. :)
