Need Physician Recommendation

Good Afternoon Striders –

 

Looking for a suggestion for a good doctor in the greater Hartford area that can help me with a nagging achilles tendon problem.  Had a pretty decent spring and even jumped into a summer 5K.  Tweaked my achilles doing some speed work way back in August .  Have given it tons of rest since then and have no discomfort with walking and stairs.  It unfortunately comes immediately back as soon as I attempt running again (even a very short, slow jog).

Have you tried ice? I put water in a paper cup, freeze it, the peel off an inch so I can rub it on the injured area for 15 minutes then I try to swing my leg to get blood flowing in the area. The biggest problem with the Achilles’ tendon is lack of blood flow to the tendon. There is a PT at Select in West Hartford named Andrew who is the head person there and is a runner to boot.
