Hello everyone,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to tell you all, on behalf of Robyn’s family (particularly, at the request of her husband, Mike), that she suffered a severe stroke on Monday morning and is currently in the ICU at Hartford Hospital. She has a long road to recovery but is making small improvements each day. Currently, visitors beyond family are not permitted, but Mike will let me know if/when that becomes possible and I will be sure to pass that information along to you all as well.
Meanwhile, tomorrow I will have a card ready for signing and an envelope for any donations or gifts people may wish to contribute at my desk on 7FP. Alternatively, for anyone who would like to send well wishes individually, her mailing address is:

Hello!
Robyn has made remarkable progress over this weekend. She has been moved out of the ICU and has her own private room for now. She is eager to have visitors, and callers and that is the one thing her husband, Mike, has stressed is most important to them right now and throughout the coming weeks of recovery. She is able to speak and understand conversation, but currently has some memory and word recall issues, so do bear that in mind as you visit or call her.
Mike is hoping for a steady flow of visitors and callers for her, since she is such a social person and she will likely be pretty bored there over the next few weeks. Rather than a large group, small groups and shorter visits are preferred for now. I will be going to see her today with a couple other people.
She is currently at Hartford Hospital, Room 1168. The telephone number for her in that room will be 860-545-1768 but it is not set up yet. I will let you all know when it is up and running, which should be today or tomorrow.
As for gifts and other services. I have received a lot of interest from people who want to make them food. Mike is emphatic this is not needed. They are already inundated. However, if you absolutely insist, you can give your food gifts to Cyndie Chudzik (7FP) for delivery. Please note, however, Cyndie will be out of the office this week until Thursday.

I want to thank you all for the enormous outpouring of support and offerings! We have several excellent ideas for helping Robyn’s family out (such as bringing food, offering transportation or dog walking, or obtaining gift cards for home cleaning services, food services, hospital parking, etc.) and I am hoping to coordinate with her husband soon to figure out which options are and will be most needed and welcomed. Proceeds from the donations I collect will go to a small present but mostly to more helpful items such as the gift cards/services mentioned above.
I do not have any further updates on Robyn today; however, I wanted to let you all know three things:
- Cyndie Chudzik (on 7FP) lives next door to Robyn and has very kindly offered to transport any securely packaged food items or other parcels people wish to leave with her.
- I will be working from home tomorrow (Friday), so anyone who wishes to sign the card or donate should seek out Shannon Grant on 7FP. She will be keeping these things in my absence. I will be back on Monday and through next Thursday.
- For those of you who are far away and wish to contribute to the donations, I accept venmo contributions. Reach out to me individually and I we can coordinate that.
