Sir/Madam,

A meeting of the Committee of officers on the future oriented role of home guards in social sector was held on 1st May, 2025. The matter pertaining to Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSE&L) involving home guard voluntaries assisting State Governments and local administrations for various community awareness drive like inspection of quality of Mid Day Meal at the school and community centres and societies where centralised kitchens are operating, were discussed in the meeting. It has also been proposed that the services of home guards voluntaries can be used to create awareness regarding overall health and well being of students (Manodarpan, school health programme including tobacco cessation, reducing consumption of oil etc.). It is requested that this may be considered and your consent may kindly be furnished if any to this department for further action.
