Respected Sir/ Madam,

     I am directed to forwarded herewith a DO letter dated  07.10.2025 (enclosed) of Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, regarding observance of a nation-wide Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Awareness Week scheduled from 13th to 17th October 2025. This initiative seeks to enhance awareness, preparedness, and the capacity of the general public across all sectors, including educational institutions, in performing CPR.

2.    CPR Awareness Week will include the following key activities:

·         Nation-wide pledge on CPR for all health facilities and educational institutions (details enclosed as Annexure I)(enclosed)

·         A pan-India panel discussion on CPR techniques and the role of bystanders (Annexure II)(enclosed)

·       Capacity building of school students through physical demonstrations of compression-only CPR, in collaboration with Central and State Medical Colleges and the Indian Red Cross Society

·         Awareness initiatives including poster-making and quiz competitions themed around bystander CPR

·         Access to an online video tutorial and a set of Dos and Don’ts for CPR training and awareness (Annexure III)(enclosed)

·         Detailed day-wise activity plans for the week (Annexure IV)(enclosed)

3.     We request your cooperation to widely disseminate this information within your respective institutions and ensure active engagement in the CPR Awareness Week. Kindly share the details of the activities conducted, along with the number of participants, with this Ministry to help gauge the impact of this initiative.
