Greetings All,
I would like to know if and how many of you use codes beyond 800-959.9 in the inclusion criteria in your state?
Thanks
Linda Horne, CPC
Ms State Trauma Registry
570 E. Woodrow Wilson U-164
Jackson, MS 39215-1700
North Dakota also includes 991.0-3 (frostbite).
Also, if a trauma code/alert is called, that patient automatically goes into the registry despite ICD9 codes.
Further information can be found at http://www.ndhealth.gov/trauma/resource/default.asp?ID=341

Nebraska also includes 994.1 (drowning), 994.7 (asphyxiation & strangulation) or 994.8 (electrocution)

Idaho also includes 994.1, 994.7 and 994.8 – but we don’t include all ICD-9s in the 800-959.9 range.

Thanks for the replies. One more question. Have anyone started to implement guidelines for the ICD-10 that will be coming within the next year or so? How will this impact your registry?
Not yet for Idaho.
Either has Alaska,
Although our software company – said they would start doing all the necessary preparations in the background, so our system would be ready at the necessary time.
Thanks

What software company is everyone using? We are using Image Trend in Idaho.

The software for MS is DI Corp, in which I learned is already on task for the ICD-10. I was glad to hear it.

Would state registrars be willing to send me their official job title or classification from your respective states?
