Each year, in association with C.A.R.’s annual consumer advertising campaign, C.A.R. provides tangible tools to help members share their expertise with clients.
This year, as an extension of the campaign, C.A.R. is offering yet another free member benefit – the first-ever REALTOR®-centric emoji keyboard for members to download to their smartphone.
Emojis are digital images or icons used to express ideas and emotions in electronic communication. As the number of people communicating via text messaging and other forms of electronic communication has increased, so has the popularity of emojis.
To that end, C.A.R. created an emoji keyboard specifically for REALTORS®. The app, CARmojis, contains more than 30 emojis including a super REALTOR®, an open house sign, stainless steel appliances, fireplace, swimming pool, keys, a bottle of champagne, and many more.
Downloading and installing the keyboard is simple. If using an iPhone, visit the App Store from your phone and search for CARmojis. Once located, tap to install. If using an Android device, visit the Google Play store and search for CARmojis. Once located, tap to install.
After the app has downloaded, open the app and follow the instructions on screen for installing the keyboard. As with all third-party keyboards, all users must allow “full access” for the keyboard in order to access all of the features of the keyboard. This is standard practice and a requirement in order to have a third-party keyboard installed.
Once the “Allow Full Access” button has been toggled, a message will display letting users know that full access allows the developer of the keyboard to transmit what is typed with the keyboard. Again, this is a standard requirement. C.A.R. will never collect or save information that is typed with the keyboard.
To use the CARmojis keyboard, open a text message and press and hold the globe icon. A menu of all keyboards installed on the device will pop up. Select the CARmojis and Stickers keyboard and enjoy the fun!
Also included within the CARmojis app is another tool called Stickers. These are digital images that can be placed on a picture. Stickers currently available include Champions of Home, Who’s Your REALTOR®, and C.A.R.’s logos. More stickers will be added down the line. To access the stickers, open the CARmojis app and select “skip” in the bottom right hand corner to skip the keyboard tutorial. Then, tap “Stickers” to begin using this feature.

Also new this week are vignettes with HGTV host and REALTOR® Egypt Sherrod. Through a series of four, 30-second vignettes, Sherrod will share advice with home buyers that only a REALTOR® knows.

Hello Friends!
Beth had asked for permission to offer our REALTOR® Emojis to her members in CT. I asked our Communications department and they said that is absolutely OK to share the emojis with your members! They’ve been on Inman, REALTOR® Mag, RISMedia, etc. so it’s available for anyone to download.
You will also get C.A.R.’s logo in there, but I’ve heard our VP is talking to our agency about how to handle requests from other associations/brokerages who may want add their own logos/emojis to a keyboard! Let me know if you’re interested in that and I’ll connect with our Communications person.
