I received this wonderful email from a researcher who recently worked with our own Paula Perkins and TXGenWeb, and I wanted to share it with all of you.

 

It is such a great reminder of why we do what we do. Being able to help a researcher make a connection, find an answer, or discover something they may not have found on their own is incredibly rewarding and truly sets us apart from "Big Genealogy."

 

Every page we create, every record we preserve, and every question we answer has the potential to make a real difference to someone searching for their family.

 

I hope this heartfelt testimonial will encourage each of you and remind you of the very real impact your volunteer work has.

I am pleased to share my experience with Paula regarding her exceptional depth of knowledge, generosity and commitment to guiding me in my journey researching my family history.

Paula assisted me u exploring my grandparents family history, particularly the   Mounger/Munger/Elliott connection in Collin County and our line that migrated to California.

What impresses me most was not only her knowledge but her passion as well and her willingness to share it. She approaches geneology with patience, curiosity and genuine desire to help others succeed in their own research. Paula has a remarkable ability to recognize connections, point researchers to productive sources with encouragement to explore family history. 

In closing my experience with Paula has given me a personal appreciation for the value she brings to Geneology and those fortunate enough to work with her on every level.

Thank you Mary Alice. She is just a beginner. She knew nothing about her father's side. I love to help researchers and share my knowledge with them to get them on the right track and with the correct resources to document their connections!
