WorldGenWeb has changed their URL to https://www.worldgenweb.net

The old ".org" URL no longer works. If you have a link to WorldGenWeb on your site, please update it to the new URL. It's not a requirement to link to WorldGenWeb, but it is recommended at the bottom of our SC & CC Guidelines, and might be nice to add. We will be updating the link shown on the Guidelines page forthwith.

Thank you!

Subject: Links to the WorldGenWeb Project

Dear USGenWeb Team,
Although our projects are not associated, I would be grateful if your members would consider setting up a link to our project.
We strive to help researchers who are facing the challenges of getting information about different countries with different cultures and different languages.
Our USA Landing Page is supposed to highlight the most important links for anyone from abroad needing to research the United States.
Your feedback and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
Charles

Why would we want to link to their website when they state this on their website:

  • WGW: USGenWeb (not affiliated with the WorldGenWeb Project)

USGW and WGW were both started from the ground up in the early days of the web. We have never been affiliated, but we have always encouraged promoting each other. FWIW, we are not affiliated with FamilySearch or many other organizations, state historical societies, etc. that we link to from our sites, so I'm not sure why WGW would be any different.

Thanks for the explanation. Makes perfect sense now that you've explained it to me.
