DEGenWeb sponsors the attached proposed amendment to Bylaw XIV. GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES AND APPEALS PROCESS
I requested that the proposal be published on our website. When published, it will be available here:

The last grievance was filed 6/28/2011. This amendment seeks to replace the requirement for a 5-member standing committee with a single appointed coordinator to take the necessary actions if a grievance is filed. This will lessen the demand for annual volunteers to staff a standing committee and help right-size the requirement to the size and needs of our current membership.

Per Bylaw XVI. Amendment to Bylaws, five additional states are required to co-sponsor an amendment before it can be added to the annual election ballot for a vote by the membership. A two-thirds majority vote in the annual election is required to pass the amendment.

If this amendment gains sponsorship and is passed by the membership, it will necessitate a review and update of Standard Rule V. Grievance Procedures by the 2026/27 Advisory Board to clarify the duties of the Grievance Coordinator and specify the next steps in the event a grievance is filed.

State Coordinators:

If your state is willing to co-sponsor this amendment, please announce your support on this list. Please include the State Project name (XXGenWeb) and your name. The Project name, SC name, and the announcement date will be displayed on the Proposed Amendments page.

I have recorded the following 6 co-sponsors for the attached proposed amendment and asked our Web Management team to post this information, along with the attached proposal, on this page: https://www.usgenweb.org/about/proposedamendments.html

Once the web team has a chance to update the page, the requirements will be met to add this proposal to the annual July election ballot. I therefore ask the Election Committee to prepare to add this proposed amendment to the ballot.

Can't figure out how to get the Amendment text into a web page.  Pdf file was created with something, I don't have to convert.

Can you send it in a .doc format?

Betty

PS  - Just got out of the hospital Wednesday, Had a mild stroke, so not running at full mental capacity at the moment due to all the drugs they have me on.  I may just be overlooking something very simple.

Just take it easy.  And even with "drug brain" you are better thinking than anyone else.

Thanks.  Haven't felt too bright lately.  The drugs they had me on are pretty rough.   Hubby found me looking in the cupboards for the silverware!
