There is a proposed Bylaw amendment on the table. Please read below. At least 5 co-sponsoring states are needed to put this proposal on the upcoming ballot.

I encourage you to discuss sponsorship of this amendment with your states and on this list. For States that wish to co-sponsor, send your announcement to an Advisory Board member and be sure to cc usgenw...@googlegroups.com

Subject: [BOARD] ANNOUNCEMENT: Proposed USGenWeb ByLaw Amendment

*** PLEASE FORWARD TO ALL PROJECT LISTS ***

On April 6, 2021, the Advisory Board received a proposal from NDGenWeb to amend a USGenWeb Bylaw. The proposed amendment seeks to strike the requirement that all local sites must provide a query area. By striking as a National requirement, individual States will be free to decide if they wish to adopt the requirement at a State level.

The proposed amendment is posted in full on the National website: http://usgenweb.org/about/proposedamendments.html

Five additional States are required to co-sponsor this amendment for inclusion on the upcoming National Election ballot. States that wish to co-sponsor this proposed amendment are instructed to notify the Advisory Board and CC usgenw...@googlegroups.com

XVI. Amendment to Bylaws
C. The proposed amendment, with the sponsor's name and date of posting, shall remain posted for a period of at least thirty (30) days prior to the annual voting period of July 1-July 31. Any proposed amendment shall require a minimum of five (5) states as co-sponsors to command that it be placed on the ballot. State projects wishing to co-sponsor the amendment shall notify the Advisory Board and make an announcement on the USGenWeb-All Mailing List.

There are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury and ammo.
Please use in that order.

The soap box represents exercising one's right to freedom of speech to influence politics to defend liberty.
The ballot box represents exercising one's right to vote to elect a government which defends liberty.
The jury box represents using jury nullification to refuse to convict someone being prosecuted for breaking an unjust law that decreases liberty.
The ammo box represents exercising one's right to keep and bear arms to oppose, in armed conflict, a government that decreases liberty.
