The following came across a New York forum - where a person was trying to unravel a mystery in their tree.  This came from advice given - these may be helpful items for one's site(s).

The Leeds method for charting unknown relationships?

Tim - I do use this and it works well to group individuals together - especially if you use ancestry.com and check the shared matches
- but if your matches are 4th cousins or higher -  it doesn't help link up to where you match when you are a 1st or  2nd generation
American - and you ancestors are from eastern Europe (Africa or other hard to research countries) - records are difficult to find -

It does help you narrow down if it is maternal or paternal - and sometimes you can tell which grandparent or greatgrandparent they might
match to - but to date - I have NOT been able to connect anyone using the method -

Hope that helps - MAK
