Forwarding this motion to update the EC procedures to remove the requirement for members to register to vote. The goal is to remove this complexity/obstacle to voting.

The motion is in the discussion phase. If you or your state members have any questions or concerns, please raise them by Sunday to this list or one of your AB reps before this motion goes to the voting period.

Thanks!

"No Discussion" NH/SC sounds good, do it.

Linda,

If no registration is required to vote, State project personnel would still need to keep up to date lists of eligible voters with the EC, correct?

Thanks for asking, Tim.

Yes, absolutely! Keeping the membership updated in Oversight is an essential part of the State Coordinator role. It's not only important for national, state, and local elections but also essential for our ability to contact all our members when necessary and accurately determine the number of active members we have.

OK if members are not required to register - than how will members be verified to vote within the state or the region they are assigned to - then couldn't anyone vote ???  Even non CCs -

Are we going back to voting in our own states again???

Please explain - MAK

It seems to me that the SC or ASC would update the EC list in Oversight for CCs or co-CCs or others eligible to vote, which would in effect be the ones who would be sent an email about voting.

How states handle elections and who is eligible to vote would be a state matter where states may have different rules than the national election.
