I've added a page to our google groups page to list any books that any
of us read on the topic of ruby and on rails. I didn't have time to
make it very pretty or add much detail, but I aim to provide a
detailed description of what I learned from each of the books I post
there.

A similar page that lists online tutorials and other online resources
would probably also be useful.

- or copy & paste it into your browser's address bar if that doesn't
work.

Awesome! Thanks Anthony. I added Rails Recipes, which I forgot to
mention last night. It's really handy for things like "just tell me
how to make a text field with auto-complete", since the recipes are
very specific, and cut right to the chase. I think this book's a great
stepping stone after Agile Web Development with Rails.

Hmm, notice a common thread with publishers? :)

I also have to throw in my vote for the original "The Pragmatic
Programmer" book by Andy Hunt and Dave Thomas. In addition to starting
their whole publishing company from which all of these books came
from, it was one of the most significant books on programming that
I've ever read. It doesn't apply to any one particular programming
language -- instead it discusses techniques and skills that are common
to the entire field of software development. Yet it still manages to
be down-to-earth enough to be very useful on a day-to-day basis.

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes by adding a few books to the list! I
hope these are useful for you guys.

Cheers!
