so I had the problem of not hearing the sound through my Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 which was connected to my laptop with sysop Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I tried these two easy steps and it worked out for me.

Hi all, like many folks from the burgeoning social media years of the web, I settled on the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 as my mic enabled headset. I've been using it for video calls since like 2012. Been a great headset, but it's finally dead after over a decade of use. I'm pretty sure this headset is a discontinued product at this point, so I'd like to ask for some help in getting a modern replacement headset that's similar. Maybe this thread will help people Googling about this in the future as well, because I didn't get great search results for "modern replacement for LX-3000" and the like.

Past gear experience - Only thing I never liked about the LX-3000 is it wasn't truly fully over ear. I'd love to have a headset like it that's a bit more comfortable. If there's something super comfy outside my budget, I'm open to the recommendation!

I have recently bought a microsoft lifechat lx-3000 primarily for use with my work laptop, although I would also like to use it with my personal laptop. The problem is: on my personal laptop there is a hissing sound in the background of my recorded audio (in calls for example). I have checked in device manager that the driver is the newest version already. Other than that, I am relatively at a loss for what to do or even what information exactly to provide here. My work computer has Windows 10 and my personal has Windows 11, which may be exactly the source of the difference, but I'm not sure if there is another solution for what I can do.
