Hello Andrias,

StarUML allows to edit "documentation" field for all elements including use cases. You can write rich-text in the "documentation" field with Markdown syntax (Markdown extension should be installed via Extension Manager). I think it is very useful to write use case description. (There is an related small image at our homepage: http://staruml.io - "Markdown Support")

Thanks,
StarUML Team

As titled.

I know we can make an use case diagram using StarUML. After that, we should add use case description for each use case that we have defined (it usually based on rational unified process, RUP template). But, one thing that I don't know is adding those use case descriptions from StarUML.

Is it possible doing this on StarUML?

Thank you.

Exported XMI will contain the "documentation" fields written in Markdown syntax. Try with XMI extension.

Thanks,

Thank you for the response.

I will give a try. I have another question, can we convert the "documentation" of use cases that originally using Markdown syntax in XMI format?

Thank you.

1. XMI extension for StarUML 2 supports XML v2.1. So, it may not be imported in StarUML V1.
2. Rich text is not supported in StarUML V1.

Thanks,

Hi, StarUML.

Sorry, I have another two questions:
1. Does XMI on StarUML 2 compatible with StarUML v1?
I mean, we can open XMI that is generated by StarUML 2 on StarUML v1 or vice versa.
2. Does StarUML v1 support Markdown documentation likes StarUML2?
If it doesn't, what kind of plain text format of use case specification can be achieved on StarUML1?

Thank you so much for the response.
