Frequent crashes on "new file"

Hi,

another issue that I recently run into is that I am often getting "App was unexpectedly terminated. Auto backup file has loaded" when I have StarUML open with a project (can be empty), and then do "File -> New".

I wish I had proper steps to reproduce, but it's a bit random. I have the feeling that it happens more often if the app is idle for a while.

So far the auto backup was very reliable, so never lost any work, but still a bit concerned that it might happen one day.

I also checked whether the console logs in the dev tools gives any info, but unfortunately it's empty. Is there any other place where I can find StarUML logs that I could share?

My environment:

StarUML 6.3.0 (Standard)

MacOS 15.0.1 (M3)

Hi,

The message appears when the application was not properly terminated just before. Unfortunately, there is no way to reproduce or view logs at the moment, so we are unable to assist. We will look into the issue based on the symptoms you described.

Meanwhile I have narrowed down the steps to reproduce a bit:

1. Open StarUML (will start with a new file)

2. Save the new file

3. Wait about 10 minutes (in the dev console it will print something about AutoBackup at that point)

4. In StarUML click "File -> New". This will trigger the crash

I'm not sure why the backup plays a role here (if I create the new file before the backup is created (if I wait less than 10 minutes), it does not happen).

I was digging a bit through the code in the dev console and set a breakpoint in the handleNew function, but it does not even reach that far and seems to crash before
