Cannot open saved Files

Hello there. I am having trouble opening the files that I have saved on the beta version of starUML. help please. maybe I saved it in the wrong format??? if I did which is the correct format??

Hi,

Please give us more detailed information as follows so as to investigate your problem.

• OS and version
• StarUML version (See About Dialog)
  
• Error Dump (Select Debug -> Show DevTools and Copy the error messages in Console Tab)
• Capture screenshot (if UI errors)
• Attach your working file (.mdj), (if possible)

i can only load the file under recent projects, i cannot open the saved file from where it is saved,

Hi,

We successfully opened the file without any errors.

There is a Use-Case Diagram with two actors and three use cases. Right?

You can find your diagram by expanding the "Model" in Explorer.

Did you try what I said?

    You can find your diagram by expanding the "Model" in Explorer.

To open the diagram, double-click on the diagram element in Explorer.

Hi Mate,

Just try this or forgive me if i am wrong or you tried this already:

1. Restart the Star UML beta.

2. Once the Star UML is loaded.

3. Press [Ctrl + o] from your keyboard which will initiate the browse window to browse the .mdj file

4. Select the file and click  on open.

or

Check if while saving the file, make sure you have saved with the extension .mdj. if not, rename the file - place the text ".mdj" at the end and try the above steps.

Dear StarUML, 

I'm having trouble opening a saved file as well. Part of the classes I made are there but not visible. Other classes are fine. I attatched the file for debugging. It would be nice if you could recover my diagram, but it doesn't take super long to draw it again.

Dear Koen,

We tried to recover your file. Unfortunately, we so sorry to say that it cannot be recovered. When a model element (e.g. UMLClass) is deleted, then all related view elements (e.g. UMLClassView) should be deleted with. In this case, some class view elements are remained which should be already removed with its class model elements. 

It is the case never reported so far, so we want to know how such cases were happen. It would be very helpful if you can tell us what suspected points. Send them via e-mail (support (at) staruml.io) is welcome.
