Hi Everybody,
Last month ended in a bang! Startup Weekend Kansas City was such a
successful event. Thank you to all those who attended. For those who
missed out, there have been some brief discussions on arranging a
second startup weekend later in the year. More information will be
announced as we get closer to the fall.
In other news, a unified calendar was launched this week with the goal
of providing a single website to showcase all the technical events
occurring in our fair city;
http://kctechcal.com. The source code the
calendar is forked off is the tech calendar for the city of Portland;
Calagator. Please feel free to add and edit any event with accurate
information to promote the our community.
Which now leads to the series of events scheduled for this summer.
Starting on May 15th, Mobile Fridays will be held at the StartupKC
space in ECJC every two Fridays. On those days, mobile developers from
the Sprint will be co-working in the space as well as holding
discussions from 11 am - 1pm in the StartupKC conference room; food
and drinks will be provided. The entire day will be causal, so feel
free to stop by for lunch if you are nearby. Prior knowledge of mobile
development or programming is not required.
Along with the mobile Fridays, Happy Hours will be arranged once a
month for those who can not make it to the other events. This month
will be on Wednesday, May 13th at Velvet Dog from 5:30 - 7:00. In the
future, the happy hours will occur on the second Wednesdays of the
month. Please come out and hang out.
And that concludes the summary. Note, all of these events have been
posted on
http://kctechcal.com.
Thanks - Steven
