At the end of last week, a venue was secured BarCamp. Barcamp will be
held at JavaPortKC in the Crossroads. It is great to have the the
founders of that space onboard with BarCamp. The BarCamp last year
jump started the local community scene with its great technology and
collaborative vibe, which is why it is so great to have the event at
Javaport. Being in the heart of Kansas City's most vibrant creative
area, the vibe will surely be electric! Take a look at the pictures
at the link below.
In addition, John B. from CCCKC (@Jur1st) volunteered to help out with
the networking and projector needs; which brings up an important
resource question. For each of the break sessions, it would be great
to have a projector available to project slides on a screen. If you
have a projector and/or screen available that you would not mind
lending out for a day, please let either of us know.
Next, regarding the date, BarCamp will be on Sept 26th starting at
9:00 AM, with a Friday Social Meetup. Last year, Pete Thomas arranged
a meetup at Naras, so that is always a possibility. Since the weather
is likely to be warm, I am proposing grills to be fired up in the
parking lot to have ourselves a little gathering. Possibility setup a
laser graffiti, a few games of Seek and Spell, and shenanigans.
And that is about it so far. -- Steven
