Hi Everyone,

We need to clear out the startup kc space. There are a couple desks
in there that are free for members of this group to take. If you need
an extra desk, or know a fellow startuper that needs one, feel free to
go grab one. The chairs in the conference room stay with the space.
I'll post what remains after this weekend on Craigslist.

On another note, anyone have any spare office space for me to crash at
during the week? Im starting to look for a co-working environment to
hang.

Thanks
Dan

Dan,

At the moment most people are meeting out at coffee houses for their
co-working. The best place to find out where the location is with
Twitter.

Thanks - Steven

What is the fate of Startup KC?

I am still big into building community and co-working. Since I have known about the closing of the StartupKC space, I've been looking into real estate in Waldo, Brookside and now Westport.  I haven't had too much discussion on what the services, amenities or what the overall vision is.  I've been reading many urban sociology and community books to get a better understanding--my hopes is to be better prepared.

Who are our community leaders in this space?  The event planners?  The user group organizers?

This week is the 2nd Wednesday of the month, so StartupKC Happy Hour is still schedule. Want to spread the word and have this discussion in real-time?

Building community and co-working...all good things. I'm on board to
help organize but (maybe it was me), it seemed like we had two very
productive meetings with no action or follow-up aside from Pre Dev
Camp, etc. Of course, I'm more interested in the business/strategy
side of things, since I'm not a developer.

I can't attend this week, but Steven, maybe you and I can get together
to discuss afterwards?

I had the same feeling too. The first two meeting of the year was
fantastic, but it trailed off after Startup Weekend.

The thoughts from Richard Florida and Jane Jacobs are two individuals
who I would recommend following up on. More and more, I would rather
say Creatives rather than saying developer, biz, marketing, etc.

Carrie, I will follow up with you on discussing offline.

I agree. The summer saw a big downward movement in energy, beyond a
few events. I think a big part of that was myself and darby heading
out for the summer, new jobs for others, and tons of out of town
events.

I wouldn't getting the energy back up and going. Im game for a get together.

I'm stoked... This will be my first Startup KC event...  Kinda bummed that I've missed out on the action thus far, but excited to see where things are headed!
