Hey Class,

We're truly excited to host Garrett Gee founder of Scan in class tomorrow!

About Scan:

Scan is creating disruptive apps that connect the real world with the digital universe in fun and innovative ways. Through QR code, NFC, and other technologies, Scan brings social media, lead generation, analytics, and mobile commerce to life through real world “like”, “follow”, and even “buy” buttons. Companies can easily use Scan’s tools to create these custom experiences for their customers. Scan had roughly 10 million downloads in one year and is used in 77 countries and counting. They have some awesome backers including Google Ventures, Start Fund, and Naval Ravikant.

Opportunity:

We'd like to present the class with an opportunity to grab dinner with Garrett before class at 6pm. If you're interested, please send us a brief paragraph of what you think about Scan and what you hope to learn from Garrett in getting to meet him.

Mini Assignment:

• Check out Garrett's awesome blog and the Scan website. Garrett is flying out to the bay for tomorrow's class, so make sure to come ready to engage with great questions.
• Continuing off the crowdsource co-creation theme, Fill in the spreadsheet with awesome student groups you recommend looking into as a resource for entrepreneurship, innovation, and learning new skills. We hope you leave this class and take action - whether it's joining groups, doing more research on startups, acquiring new skills, engaging in the startup ecosystem, or starting up. Everyone please add at least one - we have over 1,000 clubs! You will have until Saturday at 12am to do this since it has been sent last minute, but it should only take a few minutes.
