Hi Jeremy,

I am feeling kind of sick tonight and I think I won't be able to attend class. I hope it's nothing bad and so be able to attend next class.

Thanks,

Daniel Schafer

Subject: Class 3 - Big Data & Bernt Wahl

Hey Class,

I am excited to announce our third speaker Bernt WahlBernt has been in the thick of silicon valley innovation since the beginning - having seen Jobs and Woz as they were building apple from the garage to being an engineering leader at InfoSeek, one of the earliest successful search engines.  He is well known as an entrepreneur, author, professor, and mathematician. Bernt is currently CEO Factle Corporation which focuses on specialized search and localized demographics. He is also a UC Berkeley Industry Fellow at the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership where he teaches a Web 2.0 course.

To kick things off, we'll be looking at Big Data which is one of Bernt's areas of expertise. To prepare for the class, check out an awesome article from today called People and Big Data: Separately Good, Together Great.

Go BIG or go home!
