Captains Log

[Captains Log: 2426.04. Begin Recording]

Prodigy stayed docked on Deep Space Nine for a few months, the crew taking some much needed R&R after our encounter with the True Link. That and, I was hoping Cromwell would show up from whenever they are. Examination of the wormhole shows tachyon emissions which suggest Cromwell has gone back in time, but we have no way of knowing exactly when, and thus, no way of trying to find them. I’m not too worried. Carson and time travel are like bread and butter so I have very little doubt that he’ll make his way back, though it has been a few months now. I hope they get back before we need to return to the Delta Quadrant. 

February was pretty uneventful, but March made up for it when Lyra decided to amputate her arm, alone, in her bedroom. She wanted to install a new cybernetic arm and had created a self application device. The good news is that her device did actually work with minimal complications. The bad news is that she didn’t understand why we were all so worked up about her removing her own arm without a doctor being present. Dr Tas checked her over in sickbay after the Incident and cleared her physically. Dr Kavai saw her after that and recommended ongoing therapy. Our initial idea had been to have Lyra monitored via Unit. Lyra was not happy with that and we had a lot of back and forth, but Tas came up with the compromise of a vital signs monitor, along with therapy with Lumi (who is training to be a child psychologist with Kavai as their supervisor). 

Lumi didn’t tell me much about their appointment with Lyra because of confidentiality but did assure me that Lyra had shown up to their session and I have noticed that Lyra has fidget toys, a second skin suit and noise cancelling headphones now, so I’m guessing there’s some kind of sensory issue going on there. One good thing about being so far from home is, it’ll take a few months for Jessana to get my subspace message about The Incident, which gives me a little while to think of what to say to her when I do inevitably have to arrange a call. I’m hoping the fact that Lyra has the vital signs monitor and is in therapy will help lessen the low of ‘your little sister cut off her own arm’ but I don’t know. Parents and guardians are the hardest part of this job. 

The Cardassian Team left in Ohana at the beginning of the month. Six of Twelve will be sending a report on that, but I haven’t had any calls yet, so I’m guessing no one’s declared war or anything. 

The rest of the crew have arrived in Ferengi space at The Continuum of Dreams. The theme park is being ran by a group of Talosians who are inter-dimensional travellers. I’m assuming the planet was booked (no doubt at an extortionate price) from the Ferengis. 

When we arrived at the park, we were greeted by a guide, who appeared to us all as something different. For me, it appeared as a little white rabbit. Toby saw a dinosaur. Siril and Yel saw… each-other… in various states of undress as I later had the misfortune of finding out when the Guide split into companions to guide us around the park. 

Siril and Yel have headed off together to a tropical island where you fly around in low gravity. I’m going to a Rollercoster that alters its course based on your mind, because that’s what Myriad and Evoras wanted to do. Twelve is with us. Lumi has taken Neilson, C5, C7 and Melina to a place called The Memory Arcade where you relive memories. Apparently they are going through one of C7’s early memories right now. Kenneth took Mia, Cryvyn-sha and Toby. They haven’t gotten to their exhibit yet because Toby was distracted by Candyfloss. Things actually seem to be going peacefully for a change… it’s weird. I keep expecting something to go wrong but maybe we are owed some good luck.

[Begin Log- Six of Twelve - 2426.04]

When Ohana reached the border of Cardassian space, an escort vessel arrived to guide us to Cardassia. We arrived without incident and were greeted by two individuals: Galek and Rutel. 

Galek spoke to Magar in High Cardassian about babysitting. We informed Galek that we would supervise Prodigy’s children. Unit says Galek looked surprised and probably did not expect us to know the language. 

We were split into two groups; those on the diplomatic mission, and those for the tour of the city. 

Colonel MarQ, Lt Commander Heter, Dr Saran and Ambassador Magar went with Galek for the meeting, while Six of Twelve, Four of Seven, Five of Nine, Unit, Lyra and Seven-or-Jito went with Rutel for the tour. Nemesis split itself in half so it could go with both groups, to ensure we can still communicate if a dampening field is used to disrupt our connection inside the diplomatic meeting.  

Unit asked Rutel if she would assist us in locating Seven-or-Jito’s family, as we believe she may have relatives on Cardassia from her Cardassian mother’s side. Rutel said this would not be possible, but has yet to explain why, in spite of Unit’s frequent questioning. Instead, she is telling us about the city and suggested we eat at one of the restaurants. Unit persisted to ask for help again in locating Seven-or-Jito’s relatives, promising to leave immediately if there is hostility. 

Meanwhile, we have not been disconnected from the diplomatic party yet. Galek has asked if they would like to see their quarters before going to the meeting.
