HelloI'm trying to install Wireshark 3.4.9 64bit on Windows Server 2012R2 can getting the following error during install: The Visual C Redistributable installer failed with error 1625. Please make sure you have KB2999226 or KB3118401 installed, which are already installed...

I am trying to install Wireshark 3.6.4 on a Windows 10 machine (current on updates). The error I get says ""The Visual c++ Redistributable installer failed with error 113. Please make sure you have KB2999226 or KB3118401 installed. Unable to continue installation" Those KBs are not valid for Windows 10. I rebooted my machine. I reinstalled the Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2022 and still get the same error. The older version of Wireshark (3.4.14) installs fine. Anyone have a clue?

Adding to this, I can extract the vcredist_x64 installer from the Wireshark install files when the install fails and run it manually without issue. Also note I had uninstalled all VS2015 versions of vcredist and had rebooted.

(((((This is due to a slightly different problem. We switched to Visual Studio 2022 for the 3.6.4 build, and unfortunately I missed backporting a change which is required to support that. I'm working on the 3.6.5 release, which should be out in a bit.

I was installing sitescope 2020.05 on windows server 2012 R2 datacenter but C redistributable got failed to install. After that sitescope installation was successful and I'm able to access the server also.

In temp directory I found log fine named "dd_vcredist_x86_20200610163544" which captures the log for installing visual C redistributable and in that i got to know that my server I already had higher version of visual C redistributable hence the old version did not get installed.

@Steven-Doig Some other users had this problem in the past. I usually helps to uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable from Windows. The ACID installer should then reinstall it without problems.

@Steven-Doig The updater is just stored in the Temp directory and deleted as soon as the update process has finished or is canceled. I think Magix does it this way to sell users the update service instead of letting them backup the updates easily.

If you encounter this error during an installation, you can get around it by uninstalling those versions of the redistributables in the Control Panel, then manually installing both x86 and x64 older versions directly from this link. This problem has been corrected in maintenance kits 2016.1.4 and 2016.2.2 and all released 2017 versions by devchange ALE2949. This change is documented in the 2016.1.4 maintenance release notes.

@raan-summers I personally install Microsoft Visual Studio which comes with everything needed. I never have problems with missing or incorrect libraries. But it is a huge install and maybe overkill for the common user.

Same issue here. In the end, i got it to install by unchecking:

-the 2 visual studio extensions

-gforce stuff

-physx

-nsight compute - i manually installed this individual package before trying to install cuda.

-nvidia audio

I have the same problem with CUDA toolkit 12.5. When I try to install Nsight Compute individually it show me some running processes that has conflict to install. I stopped these processes and services by task manager and services mmc then restart CUDA toolkit installer and finally got all components installed. )))

I tried running the CheckUp application to and that failed my graphics card saying it has too little RAM. Really? I run high end racing simulation on 3 monitor in full 3D at 144Mhz. The NVidia system information is reporting 12256MB total available graphics memory.

I have VS2017 installed and was initially frustrated and then finally decided to look further; saw this and used 7zip to extract SketchUpMake-en-x64.exe into a directory and finally used the *.msi installer with success!

Confirm. I found the sketchup* .msi in the temp folder and cut it from there. Something is wrong with the installer offered on sketchup homepage. It gives the Visual C++ 2014 Runtime invitation but windows does not let that as it is already installed. (win 10 x64 home). People should use the .msi file. it just works.

I have just tried to install sketchup pro 2018. It gave me the same above error. I just tried to unistall the programs and window to me there are not on the computer. I also tried to install the program and it would not install. I am under a deadline and need this to run. it is not my choice program and i have a midterm project due tuesday. please help me to get sketchup installed. I just got my computer back today after some major problems.

The Setup installer displays the error code: [Error: Failed to update Web Server(WebServer) with error code 0x80091007] - a few of web searches seem to indicate that a possible hash mismatch may cause this error code - I have verified the authenticode signature of the underlying .msi file as valid.

Thanks for the suggestion - sadly after repairing the installation of Visual Studio 2010 redistributable directly from Microsoft, the error persists - with the same error code - Error: Failed to update Web Server(WebServer) with error code 0x80091007.

I am working on getting access to Maintenance Advantage to submit a support ticket. Considering that I have a recent DR backup would it be worth re-installing Commvault on a fresh server and restoring from DR?

It would be an option to install the matching components on a new server and restoring the DR but Commvault Support would like to help prevent this kind of issue moving forward. You could also check setuptools.log and installtomcat.log to check for errors.

Component Visual C++ 2015 Runtime Libraries (x64) - 14.0.23026 has failed to install with the following error message:

"Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel. "

Normally these products just realize they are already installed and continue but not with GP 2018. Did someone forget to program the installation routine correctly? I will simply uninstall GP 2016 but this should not be happening.

Derek, it was very odd. It was the same exact version so I would have thought the install package would not even tried to install it. The fix was to uninstall it and then allow it to be reinstalled. All is well now. Thanks for your comments.

Looking in our case history, I really didn't find anything else on this, other than what you already mentioned, to uninstall the prior version of the Visual C++ pre-requisite and allow the Dynamics GP 2018 installation to install it back.

In my operation system, there is antivirus software, windows defender, brought by Win 11 operation system itself. and it looks good, except for the 'device security - core isolation' function has a yellow warning sign.

Download didn't work, just keeps failing.

Your website said to download the FULL version, that failed as well.

Then your website said "Problems downloading?Try again"

That keeps failing too "Download Dropbox failed trying again in x seconds but just keeps on round in circles

The error message isn't some user error or temporary issue - it's a significant bug in the coding of dropboxupdater around the use of static vs dynamic linking. You need to inform your developers of the issue, rather than just telling users to restart.

Any update on this? I see this on all new computers with Windows 11 64bit Build 22H2 when a user has no admin rights. This does not appear to be an issue if they have admin rights. Never a problem until recently. Can we stop the message somehow?

I also am seeing this problem also. I noticed it about a month ago, when I also found that DropBox was saying it was up to date, but not syncing anything. After trying the troubleshooting steps, I uninstalled and reinstalled DropBox; the the file syncing started working again. Looking at the error message again today - and the DropBox Update process shown in task manager was just sitting there idle. I quit DropBox, waited until all of the processes had stopped in Task Manager, restarted the DropBox service for good measure, then started DropBox from the start menu. Everything came up normally then, and changing a file synced normally.

IMO it looks like an issue with the DropBox updater trying to run before it can access the VCC runtime - or perhaps the runtime is timing out a network connection before the network is ready. Either way, looks like a bug in the design related to startup timing, since at least for me it works fine when DropBox is quit and restarted in the same session. It would also explain why it stopped syncing for me - perhaps the software was repeated failing to update.
