STAR'S END Update 08.17.25

"Encore"... "Ricochet"... "Stratosfear"... these miracle LPs from the 1970s opened our minds, moved our emotions and provoked us to think. Stirring a generation from its creative slumber this "Kosmische Musik" subsection of the 1970s Krautrock revolution swayed us with its cerebral fire and finesse. Advancing still across the waste of years this force of fantasy some time ago inspired one Brendan Pollard to realize works representative of his own electronic dreams and visions. Displaying now a nuanced mastery across several landmark releases, on THE COILS SUITE (63:28) he compliments and completes the work first begun a few months earlier on Strands. A luxury of listening THE COILS SUITE embeds its ideas inside the harmonic action. In myths and symbols his eerie studies of dissonant minimalism show a striking urgency. As the sci-fi scene and mental mood gives way to dramatic forces, fluttering modulations, and then mystery Mellotron orchestrations we revel in the restless brilliance of such stark sonic invention. Spinning elegant spiderwebs of sequencer notes the mounting music roams a tension filled labyrinth of electro echoing ostinatos and arpeggios. Beneath high flying silver-toned lead lines, across an expanse of synthesized sound our sights point to new hopes on the horizon. From the plaintive sighs of stranded ghosts, to probing the edge of the galaxy, synth-smiths like Brendan Pollard continue to utilize a human power to represent and create - revealing inner reverberations and outward implications.

Please tune in to the 08.17.25 broadcast of STAR'S END for music from the release THE COILS SUITE by Brendan Pollard, and much more...
