When the Jedi Council sent Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi to ascertain the truth, Vizsla contacted Dooku about the Jedi. Dooku assured him that if the Republic occupied Mandalore, the people would rebel and rally to Death Watch. Death Watch then sent a terrorist bomber to Sundari's Memorial Shrine to bomb it. The explosion took place right in front of Kenobi and Duchess Kryze. When Kenobi requested that the people nearby were questioned, the bomber ran away, and Kenobi pursued him. However, before Kenobi could capture and question him, the bomber jumped to his death to avoid capture.[1]
Death Watch eventually broke its ties with the Separatists following a fight between Vizsla and Dooku in which Dooku scarred Vizsla with his lightsaber.[3] Reduced to a nomadic band of brigands[10] and ruthless outlaws,[16] Death Watch eventually set up a new camp on Carlac. There, they forced the women of a nearby Ming Po village to work for them.[3] During this time, the Death Watch had lost its military precision as they descended into banditry,[17] but the terrorists still hoped to reclaim Mandalore[2] and get revenge on Dooku. To that end, they collaborated with former Separatist Senator Lux Bonteri, who also sought revenge against Dooku for orchestrating his mother's death. Using Bonteri's holotrace device, Death Watch were promised information on Dooku's location. Bo-Katan Kryze met Bonteri at his ship. Bonteri had brought the Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano with him, pretending that she was his betrothed. Bo-Katan and the others took them back to the camp where Vizsla met with Bonteri who gave him Dooku's location. Meanwhile, the other Mandalorians put Bonteri's subordinates to work, making Tano's droid R2-D2 repair droids for target practice and putting Tano herself with the village girls as a servant.[3]
Meanwhile, Maul's former master and Dooku's master Darth Sidious arrived at Sundari to deal with him. Two commandos approached Sidious only to be Force choked to death. Sidious arrived at Maul's throne room and confronted him and Opress. Maul attempted to feign loyalty to Sidious but Sidious saw through his deception and threw him and Opress against the palace windows, declaring Maul a rival. A lightsaber duel subsequently broke out between Sidious against the rival Sith brothers. Although Maul and Opress put up a fight, Sidious defeated the pair, killing Opress and capturing Maul, whom Sidious tortured into submission using Force lightning.[8]
Gar Saxon's brother Tiber Saxon became the new leader of Clan Saxon and Imperial Governor of Mandalore following Gar Saxon's death. On Mandalore, Clan Wren was joined by Bo-Katan Kryze and the rest of Clan Kryze and the Nite Owls, and together, they defeated Clan Saxon and the occupying Imperial forces reinforcing them, killing Tiber Saxon and destroying the Arc Pulse Generator. They subsequently rallied a number of the Mandalorian warrior clans and united under Bo-Katan Kryze's rule as Mand'alor. Sabine Wren gave Kryze the Darksaber, which she accepted, and the Mandalorian resistance was established.[30]
The film is set in a near-future where death from illness has become rare. When Katherine Mortenhoe is diagnosed as having an incurable disease, she becomes a celebrity and is besieged by journalists. Vincent Ferriman, top executive at the television company NTV, offers her a large sum of money if she will allow her last days to be filmed and made into a reality television show called Death Watch. They have already secretly recorded her being told her diagnosis, as her doctor is colluding with them and has given her what are allegedly painkillers but will in fact make her increasingly ill. She accepts 300,000 cash upfront and, after giving the money to her husband, goes on the run in disguise. At a night shelter for down-and-outs she is found by Roddy.
From the planet Mandalore's moon, Concordia, Vizsla's followers launched several attacks on Mandalore and the other worlds nearby. However the Death Watch would fail to win this fight as well and were defeated with Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi's assistance. They would later come across the Sith Lord Darth Maul and his brother and apprentice, Savage Opress, whom they saved from freezing to death in an escape pod. After supplying Maul with a new set of robotic legs, they formed an alliance with the pair in order to retake Mandalore. This led to them allying themselves with the Black Sun, the Hutt Clan, and other criminal organizations before launching an assault on Mandalore.
However things hit a snag with the older watch members and Din adopting Grogu. I think Gideon and her have decided to cut their losses and start from scratch. So they sent Din and the others to their deaths and left only the Armorer and the loyal mandalorians to watch the children.
In other words, Deathwatch culture is horrendous, just like ancient Spartan culture was, and not something to be looked at fondly. Yet, the only time there was even a hint of an attempt to criticize this was the Bill Burr episode. You would think after Dinn willingly removed his helmet to see off Baby Yoda, a COMPLETE VIOLATION of "the creed" he would understand that the creed ain't shit. Instead, he jumps right back in with both hands, almost drowning his pea brain, to get back in good with his cult who display no compassion, no empathy, and literally tried to kill him when he initially returned with the Darksaber.
Jokes aside, again we are three seasons in and Dinn has grown absolutely zero as a character, in fact he has regressed and is currently aimlessly wandering around obsessed with his death cult that worship violence above all else. And now he's roping Grogu into the whole thing. The show seems hell-bent so far on erasing the fact that Duchess Satine existed and that Mandalorian society reached the height of its power when they disavowed violence and war and chose peace and diplomacy. Likely because that stuff isn't "cool" and is for lame, weak people. How many kath hounds did you hunt last week? Zero. Weak ass dude. Do you even follow The Way?

The three-day period before an execution date is known as death watch. During this time, strict guidelines are implemented to maintain the security and control of the condemned offender and to maintain safe and orderly operations of the prison.
While on death watch, the items an offender can have in his/her cell are limited, the visitation schedule and regulations differ from the rest of the facility, and the media is not allowed to interview the offender. This is to ensure the safety of the offender prior to his or her scheduled execution.
At Central Prison, the men are housed in cellblocks of Unit III. Two correctional officers in a control center watch the offenders at all times. Each unit has eight pods with 24 single cells - 12 cells on each level. The cells open into a dayroom area that has a television at one end, stainless steel tables in the middle and showers at the other end. Each cell has a bed, a lavatory, commode, and a wall-mounted writing table.
Offenders on death row spend nearly all their time in either their cells or the adjacent dayroom. They may stay in their dayroom from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. While in the dayroom, they may watch television.
Death row offenders may be assigned incentive wage jobs in the canteen or clothes house, or may work as barbers or janitors within their housing areas. They are required to keep their cells and dayrooms clean. Offenders are allowed at least one hour per day for exercise and showers. Two days a week, officers escort death row offenders in groups from each cellblock pod to outdoor exercise areas, weather permitting, where the offenders can play basketball, walk or jog. Officers also escort the death row offenders by cellblock to the dining halls for each meal.
If a death row offender violates prison regulations, he may be placed in a segregation cellblock outside of the death row area. He must eat his meals in his cell and is separated from other death row offenders for his daily hour of exercise and shower.
Conditions are similar for female offenders on death row. The women are housed in a cellblock of the maximum security building at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women. Each of the single cells has a bed, lavatory and commode. The seven cells are side by side down a corridor. At the front of the cellblock is a dayroom with a television, table and chairs. This is where the women eat their meals. This room also serves as the visiting area, and all visits are supervised by correctional staff. As a group, the offenders are given at least an hour daily for exercise and showers. Volunteers provide Sunday worship services on death row. Chaplains are available for counseling.
When a death row offender exhausts all appeals, the attorney general directs the secretary of the Department of Public Safety to set an execution date. That offender - male or female - is moved into the death watch area of Central Prison three to seven days prior to the execution date. The death watch area is adjacent to the execution chamber and is located in the prison's custody control building. The offender moves all personal belongings from the death row cell to one of the four cells in the death watch area.
The offender may receive visits from his/her attorney, chaplains, psychologists and others authorized by prison administrators and may receive non-contact family visits in the prison's regular visiting area. Contact visits may be allowed at the warden's discretion in the days immediately preceding execution. An offender on death watch is not allowed contact with other offenders. The offender remains in the death watch area until receiving a stay or until escorted to the execution chamber. Executions are carried out in accordance with the state's execution protocol.
