Hi Everyone.

I'm getting an error message "Requested clipboard format is not
available" when I try and paste stuff from a website...

I select everything I want to copy, (in my browser...mozilla, or
konquorer), right click, copy, and then go to a "text document" and
when I try and paste, I get this message "Requested clipboard format
is not available".

Could anyone PLEASE be kind enough, who might know how to fix this,
help me.

Many Thanks.

Take Care.

Derek Pienaar.

Since cut n paste vary between applications and windows managers in
Linux, you might try the generic "Linux Way" for cut n paste.
1) Drag your mouse over the text to be selected. Do not try EDIT ..
COPY or anything else.
2) Place your mouse I-beam where you want to insert the text and
simply click the middle mouse button (on a two-button mouse that means
simultaneously clicking the L and R buttons)

Did that do the trick?

In Windows, I've had this happen sometimes if I copy, then close the primary application before pasting. Is this the case with you? Leaving all applications open seems to work for me.

If the website material is that important, you can download (save) the page and deal with material offline later in the same way, or by trying other methods until you get one that works.

Hi there.

I tried this, it didn't work. (It's Star Office 6.0)

Anyone know what this might be?

Thanks again.

Derek
