I'm using StartOffice 5.2 on Windows XP for the calendar functions. I'd like to set up an event and have it send an e-mail at the appropriate time. I've done this successfully before, but I recently changed ISPs and now have a different outgoing mail server (SMTP). I've changed the entry in Tools|Options|Mail/News|Server|Outgoing mail and also in the Explorer|Outbox|right click properties|SMTP|server. However, when the event triggers, it attemps to send the e-mail, but it does not send because it is till trying to send to the old ISP's SMTP server. I've restarted SO, restarted Windows, even "repaired" SO, but to no effect.

What have I missed?

Hi Bob,

All settings, which involve automatic e-mail notification, are saved in the settings of the corresponding data source. To modify these
settings, please continue as follows:

1. Open StarOffice's Explorer with "View - Explorer".

2. Click the plus sign in front of "Tasks & Events", then "Data Source".

3. Select the data source, e.g., "My Computer", and click the right mouse button to open its context menu. In the following menu, choose "Administrate".

4. In the "Administrate" dialog, choose the tab "Notification via E-mail".

5. Enter the server name in the field "SMTP server name".

6. Click [OK] to save the new settings.

After restarting StarOffice, the e-mail will now be sent to the new server.

Hope this helps

Excellent! Thank you very much. So that's at least three places where the SMTP mail server is found! But reminders from the Scheduler now work.
