1) Several all-day entries have duplicated (and duplicated again ...)
creating up to 10 identical entries
2) Probably due to daylight saving time, one entry has turned into three.
Maybe I should illustrate this: Christmas day is now
a) an all-day entry on Dec 25
b) an entry from 1am to midnight on Dec 25
c) an entry from midnight to 1 am on Dec 26
Since these entries duplicate as well (see problem 1) one holiday can now
have around 30 entries.
Can anyone help me
- getting rid of the duplicates
- getting rid of the "derivative" entries
or at least help avoid the problem in the future?
Thanks
Michael
If the duplication of entries occurs, please complete the following:
Close StarOffice and save the following files:
- ".../office51/database/address.dbf" (the address book as dBase file)
- ".../office51/database/address.dbt" (all address book memo field entries)
- ".../office51/config/schedule.cfg" (various display, filter, server
connection, and user settings)
- ".../office51/config/schedule.mas" (paper format for the print
function)involves data exchange
StarOffice <--> PalmPilot)
- ".../office51/store/format.cal" (internal format information)
- ".../office51/store/schedule.cal" (all events and tasks)
- ".../office51/store/ss.scs" (data for the entry in the StarOffice
Explorer)
Now restart StarOffice and open either the Event or Task view in the
StarOffice Explorer.
To delete duplicated addresses :
Click the plus sign (+) in front of the Explorer "Address Book" entry to
display its hierarchy. Now click the plus sign (+) in front of the entry
"Tables". Double-click the "Address" entry. A table view of your addresses
will now appear. It is now possible to manually delete all duplicated
entries. Afterwards, close the Address Book. Important: DO NOT delete data
records on the PalmPilot! Continue by re-running the StarSync procedure.
Duplications should no longer occur.
To delete duplicated Events and Tasks:
Open the Macro dialog with the menu command "Extras - Macro". Double-click
the entry "Gimmicks" in the "Macro from" selection box (right side of the
dialog). Now select "ScheduleDeleteDuplicates" and click the dialog button
[Run] with your mouse cursor. All doubled Event and Task records will be
deleted. Close the Task or Event view after the macro has completed running.

thanks for your help. Two Follow-up questions:
- does this work with SO 5.2 as well
- does this work if events/tasks and dates are on a Schedule Server?
Thanks
