using macros to paste

is there a way to make a macro paste something (in this case a file
name i copy)?
if you press ctrl+v while recording a macro, staroffice doesn't pastes
everytime you use it, but instead it puts in whatever you pasted when
you recorded the macro.
can anyone help me with this?

update:
found out how to paste.
however, i want to create a hyperlink to a folder, with a filename i
copied.
using edit>paste special pastes the filename in the cell, not in the
hyperlink dialog box.
any thoughts?
