Hello all,

I try to connect to an adabas database (which was created with xcontrol) but
I always receive the message (under STarOffice, translated from German)
"Error connecting to datasource /opt/adabas/lib/odbclib.so". The error
number is "1000".

Maybe it has something to do with the user accounts. When I created the db I
gave passwords for the CONTROL, SYSDBA and DOMAIN user, which I use under
Staroffice. I'am still a little bit confused all these users. Do I have to
create a database user, as well. Staroffice offers a fiels for a user to
connect to the db beside the CONTROL user.

Can somebody help?

Cheers

Hi Andreas,

If components cannot be located within the program (e.g., the file
"odbclib.so"), the cause in most cases is an incorrectly configured
system. Please re-check your system's configuration settings, especially
the environment variables.

The DBRoot and the Path variable must refer to the Adabas Installation
directory. In addition, the Path variable should also refer to the
Install\SQL directory. This information can also be found in the
Installation file ("setup.pdf") on the StarOffice CD-ROM.

I hope this helps you solve the problem.
