Hi I'm a Solaris newbie! and am having trouble installing a copy of StarOffice 5.2 on my sun workstation. In the readme file it tell me to install one of the patches on the cd ( in the ../office52/english/patches section) though there are none that look like they are correct for my system. I have tried installing them all but ti no glory. i hvae tried doing this in the addpatch command and creating the /tmp/patches directory as I was instructed. All of them finished early.

Is there a patch for a sunblade running OS 5.9/Solaris 9 for this version of star office??

Thank-you

Hy Dale,

Before installing StarOffice, you will need to install one or more
patches which are necessary for the installation:

Required operating system patches:

- for Solaris 7: 106327-08, 106300-09 (only 64-Bit)
- for Solaris 8: 108434-01, 108773-12, 108435-01 (only 64-Bit)

These revisions are the minimum requirement. Newer (higher) revision
numbers are also applicable.

The patches can be found on the StarOffice CD in the following directories:

- Patch for Solaris 7: /solsparc/patches/solaris7/
- Patch for Solaris 8: /solsparc/patches/solaris8/

The current revisions can be downloaded at:

For more information, please refer to the StarOffice Readme file.

The Patch-ID for Solaris 5.9 is : 112951-05
