SO 6.1 Beta - Spadmin hangs.

I am currently running solaris 8 and SO6.1 Beta. this is my first
attempt so bear with me. I can configure the acrobat distiller driver
with no issues. however when i select connect a PDF Converter then
select the default driver option spadmin just hangs.

i have the current version on Ghost Script 8 installed from Sunfreeware.
there are no error messages or anything.

any insights will help
