I am looking for a way to get rid of an autopilot dialog window, which pops up each time a user starts StarOffice for the first time. Since we are working in an environment of Sun Ray systems (in kiosk mode), most of the time it WILL be the first time that that (pseudo-)user starts StarOffice.
So what I've been looking for the last couple of hours is the file in which the "cancel" setting of that dialog window is saved. I wonder if anyone can help me out.
Thanx in advance,
egon.

Hello Egon,

The activation of the AutoPilot, for the connection of an address book in StarOffice, is controlled over the "jobs.xml" file. This file is located in the directory:

"\StarOffice6.0\user\config\registry\instance\org\openoffice\Office\"

only after the programme is started for the first time.

If the "jobs.xml" file exists, the AutoPilot for the address book will not be automatically activated. If this file does not exist, the AutoPilot will automatically start after starting the program as well as after the installation. As you have various different users, you should check that this file is present in the directory.

I would guess that you have managed to successfully perform a network install in order to allow the programme to work correctly, so you should make sure that the "jobs.xml" exists within the home directory for the users (or whatever directory you export to allow the users to roam the network). This should prevent the AutoPilot from loading up when a user runs the StarOffice programme for the first time.
