Hi Thommy,
run the setup-skript (you can find it in /usr/bin/staroffice7/programm),
the last point in the menu is "Uninstall StarOffice 7".
To install SO 8 it should exist a setup-skript too, for OOo 2.0.2 you
can find an HowTo on the OpenOffice.org-Projektsite.
But why do you want to uninstall? Both programs can work in a parallel way.

Nope. After a fresh Solaris install StarOffice uninstall is not
available (until you've installed)

Save space and maybe have it to integrate better with JDS Launch menue
and the
default desktop items.
Hy Thommy,
here it works in the described way, the Point "Uninstall..." is activ. I
use Solaris 10 with preinstalled SO7 and an OpenSolaris snv_31 (X86),
also with preinstalled SO7.
Sorry, absolut funny question: have you started SO7 once, so that SO7 is
correct installed? Only a hint.
I'm wondering about the integration in JDS. In my case I have to add the
menue-items manuelly. (OpenOffice.org 2.0.2, it installs with pkgadd).
hth,
Axel
Sorry,
Axel
I haven't installed SO7, I just want to remove all traces of it and
install SO8 (and have it
integrated with JDS).
It's to bad the JDS integration is missing, and the pkgadd of OOo is
also a mess. No real order of the packages... :-(
Hi,
the idea behind my question was, that the SO 7-Installation is only
finished, when the user run So 7 once (some scripts have to run). Maybe
that a deinstallation only possible after this step (everything is
possible ;-)
