I installed StarOffice 6.1 Beta2 on my FreeBSD 5.1 and the install went
without a hitch...

However I am unable to save any documents. The error is:

Error saving the document Untitled1:
Write Error.
The file could not be written.

Funny, I didn't name it Untitled1. I have chmod'ed the directory to 777. I
did notice upon startup that I get this line also:

bash-2.05b$ ./soffice
javaldx: could not create link of name:
/usr/home/wil/staroffice6.1/program/../user/temp/java/a which links to
/home/wil/staroffice6.1/program/j2re1.4.1_02/lib/i386/client, symlink
error: -1

Also, it is installed under /home/myuser and it was a basic workstation
install.

Thanks all!

Hi Wil,

for StarOffice 6.1 Beta support, please visit the following site:

http://starnews.sun.com/webnntp

The forums you find there are specifically for the Beta version of
StarOffice. I am not entirely sure if your problem can be solved though,
as you are running FreeBSD which is not a supported Plattform.
