The Bradford County building and zoning office is processing two applications for small subdivisions on County Road 229, northwest of Starke.

One development, Fox Meadow, is being built by Dean and Betty Castles.  Their property is near the Starke city limits on the north side of 229, and is not far f rom the Cypress Hammock apartment complex, now being built across the street from Starke Elementary School.

The plans for Fox Meadow call for six lots, ranging in size from two to five acres, all abutting 229.

Susan Faulkner O’Neal has also applied to subdivide property along the same highway,  but much further out from the city.  Gum Creek Estates, if approved, will also consist of six lots, each approximately two-and-a-half-acres. Ms. O’Neal’s lots also are adjacent to County Road 229, but are just south of County Road 229 -A.

Each application must be approved by the Bradford county Commission, and the Suwannee River Water Management District.
