Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who experience this problem.
Currently I'm using the AD and AP both 1.8 version. If you need to export it into pdf format and import it later in corel, I suggest choose the compatibility on export option as PDF 1.4 (Acrobat 5). It does the job for me on Corel 2019.
Eventhough you will loss some features and effects such as shadow etc. For current solution, I usually rasterize those layer in effect before export it though.
I am just being curious here:
I dropped corel for inkscape last year but I use to export lot of drawings to dxf for a buddy and his plasma cutter. I never noticed an issue with unconnected lines. Has things changed with corel? If I remember the pen tool draws unconnected line and the bezier connected by default but I may mis-remember.
Found a way, Corel Draw can easily import pdf file. So in inscape you save svg as pdf, then open corel draw and import pdf. Fonts need to be copy to windows machine, but I've tested drawing where I convert all text into curves.
