My biggest priorities for downloads folder organization were knowing what I have in my downloads already, in order to be able to easily remove things I no longer wanted, and to track custom vs. default replacement things easily.
Mods have some subfolders for larger mod setups (like ACR or Turn On/Off replacements) or for ones that fit under a certain umbrella (things relating to hobbies and skilling, or relating to kids and toddlers specifically) and the rest just hang out in the general mods folder, uncategorized.
The downloaded files on TSR can be sims3packs, package files or zip files. In case you get a ZIP after download, use the built-in ZIP handling in the operating system to extract the Sims3Packs or packages from the archive(s). If you need more information on this, check this help page by Microsoft.
If you have downloaded a lot of Sims3Packs, place them into: Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Downloads. If you downloaded ZIPs, you first need to extract the Sims3Packs from them, then place it in the Downloads folder.
Start the Game Launcher and go to the Downloads tab. Select the items you want to have in your game and click Install. Remember to uninstall an item first before you reinstall it.
Note: If you receive a security warning such as this, click KEEP. This cfg (configuration) file is a perfectly safe and can only be used by The Sims 4, but as cfg files are used for all sorts of apps, operating systems do treat them cautiously.
I'm on the latest build of Windows 10 Pro and I have uTorrent 3.5.1 44332. I've been using uTorrent for many years and in the past .torrent files were saved to an appdata folder, I think? It was a folder separate from my Downloads folder by default and unless I went looking for the .torrent files, I never saw them. But, as of installing it last month the client was storing all the .torrent files in my Downloads folder so I went into the settings and changed the directory settings hoping to fix this problem but even as I have it set as the attached screenshot indicates, the program keeps saving .torrent files in my downloads folder. I even created a specific folder for the .torrents and configured the settings to put them in it but it is not obeying how it's configured.
Ah, just as I alluded to earlier, the .torrent files are in the folder C: users/ventr/appdata/roaming/uTorrent once show hidden files is enabled. So, now the question is, why are the .torrent files in both places?
I give up. People here don't solve anything, they just jump in for 10 seconds of useless commentary. I realize I adjusted the settings directories to be redundant because the program is not doing what it's configured to do. It's part of trial and error. Trial and error works by trying any potential solution, no matter how remote it might seem, when you either have no idea what you are doing or when something isn't behaving as it's supposed to.
My Skyrim is installed on an SSD drive, which is seriously running out of space (only 4 GBs left). I was thinking of deleting the contents of the "downloads" folder in Mod Organizer. As far as I understand, once installed, all mods in that folder are useless to the user (unless he/she wants to reinstall the mod). Would I have any problems if I delete all the mods there?
That is in the settings area. press the wrench and screwdriver icon. A new window opens and should be on the General tab. In the center of that window you will see a check box called "Advanced". When you put a check in there it enabled the options to modify the paths for the Download, Mos and Cache directories. All you have to do is use the button next to the field you want to change and navigate to where the new one is.
When downloading Xcode from the developer website, leave the simulator runtimes that you picked in your Downloads folder. When you run Xcode 15, they will get picked up. You don't need to unpack them or move them, or do anything else.
Click download again and you will start downloading Xcode_15_beta.xipExtract the Simulator dmg and copy it to target directory, like /Applications/Xcode-beta.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Library
When I've tried running simple code (you can see in the image) accessing a TextField, when I tap in the text fields, the errors shown in the Debug Pane appear. This code works fine on the release version of Xcode. Any ideas what I should do? I've tried throwing Xcode beta into the trash, restarting the computer & reinstalling, both using the Xcodes.app & Apple's site (I used Apple's beta downloads page first). No luck. I'm using an M1 MacBook Pro & Ventura 13.4.
I tried to leave the runtimes in the download folder and Xcode is not picking up the runtime. I'm seeing this when clicking on "Run" trying to run the project in the simulator. I have even tried the other methods within this posting and nothing is working. When trying the method of copying the runtime folder as suggested by SamirBagariya, I do not get this message but the simulator never loads the app to the simulator.
i was able to move /Runtimes/iOS 17.0 simruntime to the folder of Xcode Beta, but under Xcode > Settings > Platforms this then shows up as the built-in Platform, which shows up as incompatible on my end. Instead, use the option to GET the iOS 17.0 beta in Xcode > Settings > Platforms directly (and for that matter, watchOS 10.0 beta and tvOS 17.0 beta)
