I wanna report an import problem regarding the BootSkin utility by
Stardock.
Bootskin import somehow fails !!
Stardock BootSkin version 1.05a
@ 2003 - 2004 Stardock.net Inc.
Created a .bootskin file as outlined in many tutorials
bmp file with resolution of 640X480, 256 colors,
a .bootskin file,
all in a directory of their own,
zip the whole directory,
rename the zip file into .bootskin file
....
Imported the BootSkin file successfully into the BootSkin program -
File --> Import from file... ---> Click on the .bootskin file,
then a little window appears with the message
"Bootskin imported successfully"
So far so good, right?
Not so !!!
You see, the newly imported skin does **NOT** show up anywhere in the
list, nor can I preview it, or apply it !!!
I checked deeper ... and found out that under the "C:\Program Files
\Stardock\WinCustomize\BootSkin\skins" directory, however, there's a
new "WaterFall" subdirectory created, completed with the bootskin.ini
and the bmp file:
= = = =================================
Directory of C:\Program Files\Stardock\WinCustomize\BootSkin\skins
\WaterFall
08/14/2008 08:32 PM <DIR> .
08/14/2008 08:32 PM <DIR> ..

08/14/2008 07:41 AM 308,278 Start.BMP
= = = =================================
Name of my bootskin file:
08/14/2008 08:28 PM 315,541 WaterFall.bootskin
= = = =================================
Here's the content of my bootskin.ini:
[BootSkin]
Type=0
Name = "WaterFall"
Author = "Noname from Nowhere"
Description = "A bootskin to go with the Waterfall skin"
Screen=Start.bmp
= = = =================================
What have I done wrong??
Can someone please gimme a hint or two, or three, perhaps?
Many thanks in advance !!
