Install on Win98 crashed into closed loop

I installed StarOffice 5.1 from Sun's CD on Win98. The install crashed
the machine at 99% completion. Had to do cold reboot. Since then Setup
does not work. It tells me it can't find the script file and dumps me
back to the Desktop. Attempted to reinstall from the CD and was told
that StarOffice was already installed, to go use Setup. It's a closed
loop and no one answers at Sun's StarOffice addy. Can anyone help me
out of this?

Go to your control panel and uninstall star office...then you should be able
to reinstall......If that doesn't work....Get a third part uninstall
program..... I use Cleansweep......then uninstall it that way
