I have been doing some research and also trying different drivers in the driver library. I can't seem to find an complete drivers. All of them work pretty well with the on/off, volume and channel numbers.
However when one comes to using the APPS and other functions non of the drivers I am using actually work. Has anyone come across these drivers or has one (I don't mind buying one) just havent found one.
As far as I know, there aren't any drivers natively that will control these functions. What I have done is created a DVD driver using the tv commands to select the apps and have full control. This is the easiest way, IMHO.
I personally have liked creating a DVD driver for the tv and assigning to an unused input. I then delete the ir data for the input so that tv does not change or ill copy the ir code for the input that the cable box is on so that the video pops up in the hub properly. I have even created multiple of the same driver to kick off netflix directly. Only problem that we have not really came up with a great solution is making sure the tv properly exits out of the apps in use. Netflix typically requires an exit down and enter and a second exit commands to be go back to live tv. If you would like the DVD driver i have just pm me.
The TV is both. It is both, (blue tooth) using only the supplied remote that is the swipe remote (the remote also does IR on some commands...use your cell phone in camera mode and fire the remote into the camera lens and watch for a blue pulsating light). but will still operate completely IR.!!
back on topic. I am also curious about this whole thing. Why don't we have good Drivers for these kind of TVs. I just hung one on my wall and I'm going to be working with my dealer tomorrow to get it integrated. I wonder if the Serial Drivers are any better for this kind of TV. Mine has an EXLink port on the back. Although I'm going to have to do IR until I can get more serial ports.
If I had to guess, this is all because maybe up until now we all didn't really need anything more than source switching and On/Off. Even still I see dealers just using whatever driver is close. I'm on my 3rd dealer and not all of the model numbers on my device match what I have. That all by itself isn't an issue. If it works it works, it matters not to me. Just shows a bit of need to do good validation at implementation, as it could be not quite right.
As a dealer it's not uncommon at all for me to use a driver for a model number that is "close". For TVs I still use IR drivers most of the time because I can easily edit them and change things such as the time C4 will wait for the tv to turn on before sending other signals. Its rare that I install a TV without editing the driver at least a little bit. I def have TV drivers i could share if people want them. I've never really paid attention to keeping them close by because they are so easy to edit.
I agree with Control4 needing a smart TV driver, but with so many devices that can do some of the things or even more than smart tvs idk if they ever create a driver with those functions in mind. for now I have made it work with a combination of ip ir and serial drivers. so it can be done just depends on the tv and control method. and even then they can be unreliable.
Back to my original question.. Anyone know how to program a back button for Samsung 6300? Is it part of the c4 driver or do I need to edit the driver and learn the IR code?

ive continually worked on perfecting the ir drivers to make the smartv controls seemless but still no true smartv controls out there from what i have seen or heard. with roku firetv apple tv and the slew of blu-rays they just worked better period no matter how fine tuned the smart driver is.
I got on the call with tech support. We did safe mode, re-preovision, remove/insert sim, etc. No significant improvement. Occasionally a website would start working. Once it started working it tended to stay working, even after the phone was restarted.
I went in to the store to get a new SIM card. No change. They thought the phone was bad and said that the new SIM is good and would work on any phone. When I got home I put the new SIM into my old RAZR and I got the exact same errors - so even though I got a new SIM card the problems followed the SIM card to another phone. I tried it again and moved the SIM card to my wife's Note 2. The Note 2 wouldn't even connect to 4G LTE. Now here's the kicker (or some completely unrelated random bad luck) when I put my wife's SIM back into her Note, it STILL wouldn't connect to 4G LTE.
After 40 minutes on the phone with support again, we were stuck and they recommended switching out the SIM on the Note 2. There was nothing they could do to fix the S3 and recommended getting another SIM card. Well about an hour later the Note started connecting to 4G again and appears to be working normally.
But my S3 is still not working on the internet. I also enabled the hotspot on the phone and tried using the browser from my laptop. Same problems appeared on the laptop - the sites that worked on the phone continued to work on the computer but all other sites gave an Error 504 when trying to browse to them. It's been nearly 6 days now that the S3 has had limited internet. My three other smartphone lines on the same account were all working fine (except for the Note 2 after my SIM switch.)
I went back to the Verizon store yesterday to try a sim card replacement (for the second time.) They swapped out the SIM and the problem still continued. After checking a few things they were convinced that it wasn't the phone or the SIM, but was some feature that was provisioned on the line that wasn't working. Instead of going through the troubleshooting that I had already went through with tech support on the phone, they went through each feature on my plan and disabled it. What ended up fixing the problem was disabling the Content Filtering under Family Safeguards.
I enabled content filtering on that line over two years ago when it was just a basic feature phone. When I upgraded that line to a smartphone 3 months ago I didn't change any settings, including the filtering. Yesterday the staff at the store said that the filtering service was unreliable and it was probably a problem with the verizon servers that were doing the filtering.

I'm sorry to hear about the continued trouble connecting to the 4G LTE network! I would love to get this resolved for you. Which zip code are you in when having this trouble? Are there any areas you are able to connect to the data network without any trouble?

The main zip code is 85259. However it also didn't work when I was at the Verizon store last week which was zip code 85016. Yesterday without warning it worked for about 4 hours throughout the greater phoenix area including 85259 starting at around 4PM local time but then stopped working between 8 and 9pm local time and is still not working. The most repeatable way to demonstrate the problem is using internet to go to www.facebook.com - the 504 error will appear. Also youtube videos and netflix videos won't play - a connection error is reported.
ait109,
Hmm. This is very strange. Let's keep digging. It sounds like it is a SIM card issue. Have you replaced your card? If not, you can get it replaced free of charge at any corporate Verizon Wireless store.
