In the final installment of Piggy French's guide to developing the young event horse, Piggy spills her secrets to setting up the five-year-old horse for a long, successful future. If you missed her tips on selecting and starting three-year-olds and developing four-year-olds, be sure to catch up on your reading before diving in.
If they are kept in during the winter, they are able to start eventing in March, when the season begins, and have a busy first six weeks before I go away for the spring three-day events. After that, they can have a quieter time to absorb what they have learned and enjoy the spring grass.
For years, I would marvel over the enthusiasm my guests had for pigs in a blanket. Every time I served them at a party they were the first appetizer to go. In fact it was often hard to get a full platter to the table, since guests would wait by the oven! This reaction inspired me to elevate the humble pig in a blanket. After all, pigs in a blanket are so beloved, they deserved to taste better! Today they are made with sausages handcrafted using traditional European techniques with a natural casing, without artificial seasonings, additives, fillers or MSG.

Geocaching HQ Admin: Thank you for hosting this geocaching Event! The date of the Event has passed. We automatically archive Events after 30 days (60 days for Mega- and Giga-Events). Attendees can still log archived Events, log trackables, and share their experiences.
Come and meet some of Aucklands most prolific hiders as they share the secrets of their craft, how they make them, the materials they use, the glues they employ to hold them together, how they come up with the ideas for their creations and how they thoughtfully strategise their placements, or is it completely random?
On completion of that we will open it up for anyone who wants to make up their own creations, bring your own or use some of the containers we will provide such as Mint Tins, pill bottles, used RAT kits etc. The idea is to maybe enthuse some of you to get out and hide your own and experience the rewards that the Gang of Four get from this "sport / obsession".
Later on, when all the secrets have been spilt, we will have time for a cup of tea or coffee, share or tell tall stories, renew friendships, bury hatchets---now theres an idea for a cache--- plan adventures etc.
There is some parking available by the house for about 6 cars but make sure you can stay for the whole time, as it may be inconvienient if some want to go early, theres parking up the ROW drive and street parking so there shouldnt be a problem in that regard.

We came over this afternoon to enjoy the company and conversation of fellow cachers, as well as to see what secrets might be on display. Great to catch up with familiar faces and to talk with some newer enthusiasts. Thanks for organising, and for the sharing.
We were very fortunate the weather played ball as the weather forecast was a bit dodgy. We'd finished our walk with nothing but wet feet and were heading to the event. A few more were grabbed on the way.
The talks and demos were great. I keep collecting containers and bits and bobs but I really must make time to create some hides. I do love finding all the creative caches. I love that geocaching takes you on pretty walks and I often find them on holidays with non-geocachers. Thanks Glyn, Helen, Mike and Ark for sharing your knowledge at the event and like RafaJaw said making Auckland such a cool place to go geocaching :)
There are four secrets that are unlocked by performing various feats in the game. Once unlocked, you can visit the secret areas indefinitely from the Portal screen. Usually, the secret areas offer a quest chain with three tasks each, requiring resources from varying levels of Mining and Fishing. Completing these quests awards permanent bonuses. Secrets should not be seen as optional because they give huge bonuses to the progression of the game.
The civilization secret is the check boxes found throughout the game. There are 10 empty circles around the Secrets portal. It should be noted some of the check boxes are hard to click and need to be clicked off to a side or even a little below. Also check boxes can be unmarked (Training check box) by accident. Also you need access to Fisherman's Folly Secret to complete these check boxes. See screen shots in the Civilization section for locations.
Idle attacks do not work, so you have about 10 seconds to defeat Death with only your active skills. Once you've killed Death, you're transferred to Death's throne room, where you meet Death's orphaned son. When you click on the child to attempt to console it, you'll be asked to do the following:
This secret cannot be completed until you reached the Blacksmith's fever dream. The fisherman on the Fishing Docks can be seen swinging his legs to some unheard tune. As it turns out, he used to own a Gramophone that has since been broken, its pieces lost throughout the game.
This secret cannot be completed until you've entered the Blacksmith's fever dream, Death's son's secret, and entered the fish in the Fisherman's Folly secret, and should be completed as soon as possible as its bonus increases slowly after being finished.
After finishing this secret the Portal will now display the fourth secret screen which depicts a growing civilization. The growth of the civilization depends on "total playing time" which begins with the length of the current Ascension when unlocked plus all additional playing time afterward. Ascending after unlocking this secret will not reset the "total playing time". The usage of time candy doesn't increase the total playing time.
The Strafe skill on the special skill bar is locked and requires a keyNOTE: Strafe reduce the cooldowns of other skills by 1 second every second this buff is in effect. Strafe has 10 seconds duration and no cooldown.
The key can be found by talking to Mini Lava on the portal screen. Keep trying; He has a lot to say.
NOTE: You have to exit the portal and come back. Won't work if you keep trying at one visit. Lava's usual text is colored green; if you talk to him and see red text, you should get the key the next time you visit and talk to him.
Current release requires AWS IRSA to provide the IAM permission to piggy for unsealing secrets. Before installing Piggy webhooks, you mustsetup the IRSA on AWS. Sees [ -roles-for-service-accounts.html] for complete detail of IRSA setting up.Alternatively, you can use Terraform the setup IRSA. Sees [ -aws-modules/terraform-aws-eks/tree/master/examples/irsa]
Some setting such as AWS region can set a default value by setting env in piggy webhooks helm chart value.Simply remove prefix piggysec.com from annotation, put it all in upper case, and change - to _.
This is a default mode. The Piggy Webhooks requires a permission to read secret from AWS Secret Manager. The application containers will send request to Piggy Webhooks and Piggy Webhooks will inject the secret into containers environmentswhich prefix with piggy:
You may improve security by restrict only Pod service account to read the secrets. You can limit access by adding variable name PIGGY_ALLOWED_SA to AWS secret where value is namespace:service_account name.
You can set default AWS Region by set ENV AWS_REGION on Piggy Webhooks. If AWS_REGION is set on Piggy Webhooks, you do not need to set an annotation piggysec.com/aws-region on Pod. In other word, the settings on Piggy Webhooks ENV can be overridden by pods annotations.
The standalone mode will not use Piggy Webhooks to inject secrets into containers. It will requires Pod service account with IRSA toread the secrets from AWS Secret Manager. You can enable standalone mode by adding annotation piggysec.com/standalone: "true" to Pod
The piggy also support SSM Parameter Store. To retrieve secrets from parameter store, you will just add an annotation piggysec.com/aws-ssm-parameter-path. The piggy automatically detect this annotation and pull the secrets from parameter store instead of secret manager.

Mummy Pig comes into the room where Peppa is and hands her a very special box. She explains to Peppa that she can keep secret things inside of it, and because it is hers, she can decide what goes in the box. She reminds Peppa not to tell anyone though, so Peppa runs off to the bedroom to go and locate a special, secret item.
