Have you tried applying the 4GB patch to your omsi.exe? This is a patch program that can be applied to any 32-bit executable on 64-bit Windows to enable that executable to access 4GB memory instead of 2GB. This should help, and it does make a backup of the original .exe in case you need to undo/revert this patch for any reason. You'd also need to remember to re-patch it when OMSI gets updated.

Also the Chicago Downtown map lags and stutters like no other map I have ever been on. I can Spandua at about 20-30fps on PC of 2011 but not Chicago downtown, even the preset setting for Chicago makes it worse.
It also crashed on me with 124 route and created an insanly massive logfile that I could not post into a spoiler and so had to upload it onto my onedrive.
Link to LogFile (371MB):

Most errors in the logfile result from playing some version of Bad Kinzau before you loaded Chicago. The other errors indicate a lack of memory for OMSI. Try applying the 4 GB patch, restart OMSI before switching maps and reduce the AI traffic settings.

I would say to make the bike racks animated. I think it's against transit law (or at least in the place I know) to drive with the bike rack lowered and there are no bikes on it. Other than that I have yet to see anything wrong on mine.

Unfortunately this is inpossible, otherwise I would have done it. The collision length of the bus exterior must be pre-set, so you would collide with an invisible obstacle at your front when the rack is stowed.

Yeah it was Bad Kinzua 3, This is the map I test any bus on to see any faults with it or not. So now I have installed the 4GB patch, there is less stutter now and the fps is more stable (for OMSI) Obviously as soon as I hit the city from the garage on Chicago Downtown it stutters when loading buildings but once loaded it does good. Thanks!

There is one thing with gearbox of the bus, if I do not come to a complete stop but then suddenly go into full kickdown it jerks back and forth a bit until it changes gear apart from that it is perfect. Good Work

That is unfortunate. But could it be just that the collision box is when it is stowed? I do not know about anyone else, but I would not mind that. I never play with collisions on anyway. Of course, you will get the comments about the bike rack lowered and it not crashing into things, but personally I would not care. And having it this way would allow bikes on the 40ft bus as well. For me, it just seems weird for the rack to be lowered and not in use. But I understand what you are saying.

Other than this, the add-on is fantastic! If only you could move to the US for a bit and make more US maps and buses like this... I found this website ( ) and saw that there are other New Flyers that are housed in Kedzie. Also the NovaBus models would not be bad either.

This error happens on any map not just Chicago Downtown and only happens to the 40ft bus. I have even tried a clean install of OMSI 2 with only official Addons (Three Gen, City bus o305 and Chicago Downtown)
Can someone help me please. The errors are getting very annoying.

Doesn't matter spent today going adjusting text files until the problem was sorted. (God knows what I changed but it stopped the errors and reduced the lag on Chicago Downtown so I now get about 55-80 fps on Chicago Downtown with little stutter)

I really like the 130 it seems longer than the 124 but i've noticed that the map stutters so bad it froze up my PC completely and i've had to hard reset it. Does anyone know why that is, even on the lowest settings. Any other map is fine but I think OMSI generally is the issue, but never the less this is a nice map

Hello Darius. I am wondering if it is possible to having the scrolling matrix function work for a hof other than the default Chicago one. I have tried to replicate the Chicago hof, replacing the names with those that I use in my map, but the scrolling function has ceased. When I try using one of my own hofs, the signs shows simply just the first frame of words, however when I try using your hof, the words scroll. I was wondering if you could create a template for us users to have as a reference in order to create our own hofs for the Chicago buses. Thank you in advanced.

Darius i've worked it out, it may be just my system is too powerful for OMSI but the reduced multithreading helps, seems to of eliminated the crashing, also I had reverted back to the GPUs original driver which it came with and that has also worked in favour across the board. So it is an OMSI issue using multi threading, on an i7 it seems the threads, OMSI can't keep up with and crashes.

That defines the wheels' original point. You would have to move the model file in Blender in order to move it. Whatever the coordinates of your new wheels are, enter those same X,Y, and Z coordinates in the .cfg file.

hi everyone I'm a new member and I came cross a unique and highly detailed bus simulator based on the Cta 124 and 130 downtown bus route. The game is called OMSI 2 Chicago downtown. The link is here. The simulator uses D40LF and DE60LF and has real bike racks and passengers and you can park in Kedzie Garage and even put in a run number in the clever devices IBIS system. -chicago.com

I actually was approached by someone, developing this game. At least I know it was not a hoax. Looks really good, but this is the future of simulation. Completely rendered cities. Would be nice if it could be expanded to include older type vehicles or even newer ones like the #700's, but it has the best detail in a simulator I've seen yet.

I actually own the simulator this add-on will be run on. It's a wonderful simulator, and my bus simulator of choice, but there's only a route and city in Germany, so I'm always lost, don't know how to handle fares, and I don't understand what people are saying. This will actually renew my interest in the simulator a LOT. I can't wait! It looks awesome.

BusHunter, I'm thinking it's the real deal. One of the sites listed on the CTA sim site is simulation4u dot com. They're run by Aerosoft, a company that develops high quality flight and train sim add ons. They also distribute add ons by other developers in their shop, and I have bought some add ons from them.

Biggest concern is buying it, giving my Credit Card info and not ever getting the game and finding out my card is now being used overseas by someone. I've never been a big fan of buying a downloadable game because if file(s) are missing or corrupt, you bought a useless game. At least with the CD/DVD, the game should be all there. I went to check the balance on my Sears card once through the automation and it wouldn't let me, instead transferring me to the security dept. where they told me there was a charge on my card that declined of $7.50 at a Casino..... in Oklahoma! I never, ever been to Oklahoma!

Yea I can't wait to drive the 60 footer downtown and then do some trip runs. If only they could include the 5400 and 6000 Flxible and the older models. Hopefully someone can make the majority of the city and add routes. But even in the trailer the bus engine sounds are realistic. I just wish they had the variations in interior lights in the D40LF series

Every game has its issues on launch, but the developers for OMSI 2 have been pretty active on squashing bugs in their sim from day one. I'm not saying everything will automatically go without a hitch, but I'm feeling good about this release.

Also I'm pretty good at editing the buses as I have OMSI and when the buses release I'm going to make variations of the D40LF pre rehabbed and rehabbed also with different light colors based on the bus series sub number. 1000-1629 white interior light 1629-1799 dark purple light 1800-1929 cool blue light 1930-2029 light blue interior light and different engine sounds. With ZF/Allison transmission differences

Really amazing the detail, even down to the numbers. I'm aware of Aerosoft, but I was approached around the beginning of the project last year when it was not announced yet as an Aerosoft game by Darius. This should sell well. They have a forum on it that I discovered here.

This is probably a bit of nitpicking, but probably can't use the name because of copyright(who knows), but if you at #1831 in the video preview, the logo is not blue, more like a greenish-grey and says "City". Maybe they can't/couldn't get CTA's permission to use their logo rights. Also the web address says www.chicagotraffic.com .
