I am trying to prepare the pi's sd card. I flashed the sd card with the software listed on the puppers guide (img file extracted from https://slack-files.com/T0RAWRCGY-FQG7WTSBH-eb9549ed22), then I downloaded the repo listed, extracted the files, and copied them over (and allowed it to overwrite the original flashed files on the sd card). I wasnt able to configure my computer to ssh into the pi, so when I tried plugging the pi into a monitor and turning it on, it said "This board requires newer software. Get the latest software from:- https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/". Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? I am using a pi 4.

Hey Jocelyn,
Please refer to the below workaround solution, download and flash the image directly, and then calibrate.

Hi Mangdang,

Thanks a lot for providing the image. I have flash the image to the sd card and put it to the raspberry pi 4B. However, I am getting two issues.

1) I can not ssh to the raspberry from my Mac via ssh. I always get the error
➜  ~ ssh pi (at) 192.168.0.92
ssh: connect to host 192.168.0.92 port 22: Connection refused

I am sure I enabled ssh from raspberry pi. However, it seems that only 10.0.0.34 is listening from port 22 but not from 192.168.0.92. Here is a screen shot,

Please let me know if I set anything wrong.

2) I can setup the internet connection through sudo raspy-config. But when I reboot it or power off/on the raspberry. It forgets the internet settings and I have to set again. I am not sure if I have done anything wrong. Any hints about this?

Thanks a lot,

Xu Shao

Hi Xu,
About ssh connection, please try the below steps,
1. Connect Pi4 to a display, such as a TV by HDMI
2. Append your Pi4 IP address to /etc/ssh/sshd_config
3. sudo service ssh restart
4. try ssh to Pi by your PC
Best,

Thanks a lot, Mangdang.

It works after I have attached the IP to the /etc/ssh/sshd_config.

However, when I reboot the PI or reconnect the power each time, I have to re-connect to pi via HDMI again to a) restart the ssh server, b) sudo service ssh restart. Is there any way just to make this as onetime job?

I have tried to put empty ssh under /boot. But after the PI boosted, I found this file has been removed. Any idea to save this effort each time?

BR,

Xu Shao
