For my Pupper v2.1, my hip 3D prints keep breaking during a walk. Has anyone already modified the part to have thicker walls for the sides that hold the motor? That’s where it keeps breaking. I will attempt to design a part myself if no one else has already done so.

I have already tried painting epoxy onto the walls. I do think it helps, but a design change should solve it. They are still breaking even with the epoxy paint.

It doesn’t seem like thicker motor walls would interfere with the operation of the legs.

Could you post a picture of where they break for you?

It is breaking per the photo. That is also the printed layer direction.

I am trying to print it with a different orientation. With the motor screw face down instead of the shaft attachment face down.

I would try printing it in PETG and tightening the motor screws less. Of course feel free to thicken the part. Our hip pieces would break there as well but never during normal walking.
