Just finished a 4 days stand up paddling run on the Ticino river in North-West Italy, 105km, with free camping on beaches. Clean waters (good for cooking and for washing); good temperature for frequent swimming in the river; some water sources to refill bottles with drinking water; mosquitos in the evening, but not so many.
Ticino in Italy is a WW2 river: not for inexperienced river paddlers.
I paddled on a 12'6" single short fin board, which proved perfect.
I'm thinking of proposing an organized group descent for September, with a 2-3 days preparatory course on river sup, if requested. Give me your thoughts about it.
