PLEASANTON, Calif. (KGO) -- A suspect has been taken into custody without incident on Wednesday after a two-hour standoff in Pleasanton ended peacefully.
This happened at the Civic Square Apartment complex off of Case Ave. and Bernal Ave.
A shelter-in-place order was issued during the standoff, but that was lifted about 10:30 a.m.
Pleasanton police originally reported the incident as a hostage situation but later sent an update saying it started as a domestic disturbance.
Authorities say the victim is safe.
The crisis negotiation team was brought in to help get the suspect out.
After calling him on loud speakers and calling his phone, he eventually came out -- without any weapons.
Investigators stayed on scene to search the apartment.
An armed person was arrested without issue early Saturday morning in Kansas City, Missouri.Police say they originally responded to reports of a person pointing a gun at another person after an argument near 108th St. and Bristol Terrace. The call came in at around 10 p.m. Friday night.The person who reported the incident got away safely, and officers arrived on the scene a short time later to find the suspect would not leave their home. Police activated standoff procedure and began negotiating with the suspect.Officers say they were able to take the suspect into custody shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday. No one was hurt.
