And now it is proved, that the quote “flotilla of aid” (AIDS???), headed by the liberals and islamic terrorists, some of whom are inarguably armed, were boarded, and by force they were not allowed to invade Israel so they could murder Israeli Jews.

|Everyone! Shout a VERY LOUD Yahoo, and tell all that hear you, that you are THANKING THE IDF!!! “Thank you IDF!  You are heroes!”

EVERYONE should be shouting, and we all should have been shouting this publicly from day one! J What I say to the IDF, with every word I speak I hope, is this!!!

“IDF, you are heroes!  I very honestly, and very sincerely, THANK YOU IDF!!! You have saved lives!  And unlike the Armies of other nations out there, YOU IDF, ARE HEROES!  You save lives.  You bring peace with your weapons.  Thank you!”

1. Flotilla Photos Vindicate Israel

by Hillel Fendel

Only now, more than a year after the violent flotilla incident in which terrorists tried to run Israel's blockade of Gaza, has it been conclusively shown that some of the "humanitarian" flotilla participants were armed with guns.

Photos of passengers on the Marmara ship sporting the guns were published on Tuesday in the Yediot Acharonot daily. It is not clear why the photos were not published until now.

The flotilla, ostensibly organized to bring humanitarian aid into Gaza, was organized by the Turkish organization IHH, of radical Islamic anti-Western orientation and with a history of ties with and fund-raising for Hamas.

When the ships neared Gaza some 13 months ago, Israel warned them not to attempt to breach its legal blockade of Gaza. However,  the Mavi Marmara ship did not adhere to the orders, and IDF commandos were forced to board the ship and stop it by force. They did not expect to be attacked by the humanitarian aboard the ship, but when they were – including being set upon with metal pipes, chains and knives, having a soldier nearly thrown overboard, and others briefly taken prisoner – they were able to fight back, killing nine of their attackers, including five known terrorists.

The incident led to international headlines for weeks afterwards. The flotilla backers consistently claimed that they had only peaceful intentions – now belied by the new photos.

A United Nations committee is expected to publish its findings on the IHH flotilla incident within a month. Israel's well-documented position that it was within its rights in using force to stop the ships did not receive much play in the international debate, though the UN committee is expected to justify Israel in this regard.

Another anti-Israel flotilla is being planned for the coming weeks.

2. Torah Scroll to be Marched from Western Wall to Mt. of Olives

by Hillel Fendel

The neighborhood of Maaleh Zeitim, below the Temple Mount, continues to make a name for itself, with its third public gala event in recent weeks to be held this evening.

For apparently the first time in 2,000 years, a Torah scroll will be publicly escorted amidst gala singing and dancing through the streets at the foot of the Mt. of Olives. The scroll, donated by the Rennert family in memory of terrorist victim Ido Zoldan, will be marched from a synagogue near the Western Wall to the new Maaleh Zeitim neighborhood – which is all but surrounded by Arab residents.

Some 100 families live in the six-building complex, on land purchased by Dr. Irving Moskowitz and built by Ido Zoldan’s contractor father, Nachman.  The neighborhood is located just around the corner from a former Israel Police station, which is awaiting its first occupants after having been recently purchased by Jews and turned into residential apartments.

Ido Zoldan, father of two small children, was murdered at the age of 29 in a Palestinian terrorist ambush shooting attack near Kedumim. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades of Fatah, the wing of the Palestinian Authority run by Mahmoud Abbas, claimed responsibility for the attack as "an act of protest against the Annapolis conference."

Nachman Zoldan told Arutz-7 today, “People encouraged me to make a fancy procession, with music and all, because it will be the first time of its kind in 2,000 years in this area of Jerusalem.”

Just three weeks ago, the Maaleh Zeitim (Olives Ascent) neighborhood was officially dedicated, in the presence of Cabinet ministers and Knesset Members. Two weeks ago, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the neighborhood’s new synagogue – also to be built by Nachman Zoldan aided by the generosity of the Moskowitz family.

3. UN Prepares to Condemn Syria

by Chana Ya'ar

The United Nations is preparing to condemn Syria for its murderous crackdown on protests against the Assad regime.

Although it took several rewrites, the four European members of the U.N. Security Council (Britain, France, Germany and Portugal) on Wednesday presented a new resolution demanding an “immediate end to the violence.” Earlier language submitted primarily by Britain was unacceptable to Russia and China, even after it was subsequently tweaked for their benefit. Although Russia has recently done what it can to protect Syria, analysts say it is unlikely that Moscow will veto a vote on this resolution; at most, Russia might abstain. The same is likely to hold true for China.

The resolution currently “condemns diplomatic human rights abuses,” and “calls on Syrian authorities to immediately lift the siege of affected towns,” according to British Ambassador to the U.N., Mark Lyall Grant. “It calls for steps to address the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people, which include reforms that will allow general political participation, inclusive dialogue and effective exercise of fundamental freedoms,” he told reporters after the session.

A vote on the resolution is expected by the weekend. A veto by any of the five permanent members of the Security Council – the U.S., Russia, China, France or Britain – would nix it.

Syria thumbed its nose at recent sanctions imposed by the United States and by the European Union, claiming the measures were illegal according to international law and unacceptable in diplomatic terms. Canada imposed its own sanctions as well.

Amnesty International and other human rights organizations have urged the Security Council to refer the situation in Syria to the International Criminal Court at The Hague because of reports that children have been killed by government forces. Evidence has also been received from Syrian and other activists of what may crimes against humanity carried out by same.

U.N. officials have expressed concern over reports of torture, the use of live ammunition against unarmed protesters and shelling of homes by government forces across the country. There have been reports by some human rights groups that as many as 1,300 people have died to date in what appears to be developing into a bloody civil war.

4. In Syria, 1948 Arab Refugees are Expendable

by Chana Ya'ar

A bloody confrontation between factions at the Yarmouk Arab refugee camp on the outskirts of Damascus was caused by the Syrian government, an Arab refugee says.

The descendant of a former Arab resident of Israel living today in a Syrian refugee camp charged bitterly that “Palestinian blood is cheap” there. The Arab, who spoke with a Reuters reporter on condition of anonymity, described a mood of “deep frustration in the camp.” He added that his people were being “used by the Syrian regime to deflect attention from its internal crisis.”

The State of Israel concurred, and this week submitted a letter of complaint to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon charging the Assad regime with manipulating Arab refugees living in Syria as a means of diverting "international attention from the violent repression of its own people."

The manipulation continued at a funeral for eight people killed as the result of Syria's encouragement of the so-called Arab refugees -- who have now been residents of Syria for several generations --  to attempt to breach Israel's borders on “Naksa Day.”

A separate source told Israel National News Monday that each Arab who made the attempt and successfully reached Israel's border earned $1,000 from Syria. Each person who died in the attempt won $10,000 for his or her family. A total of 23 people were killed in the effort, including eight from Yarmouk. Some 350 others were injured, most having been shot as they reached the border fence despite numerous warnings to keep away by the Israeli army.

Arab refugees later became angry during the funeral for those who were killed after defying IDF warnings. Their frustration and grief at being so used was easily manipulated into a new protest -- a solidarity cry for Syrian protesters fighting the Assad regime. The current government – and that of Assad's father – has for decades refused to grant refugees citizenship status.

The Arab refugee protesters then turned on fellow Arabs who support the Syrian government, many of whom are members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP-GC) terrorist organization headed by Ahmed Jibril.

Hundreds stormed PFLP headquarters in Damascus, wielding sticks and stones as they broke into the building. One terrorist was killed. Eleven of those who stormed the building were shot and killed by the terrorists.

*The "Naksa Day" event marks the anniversary of the so-called “setback” – the defeat of the Arab nations who attacked Israel in the 1967 Six Day War. Among those was Syria, which lost the Golan Heights to Israel's forces. Israel subsequently annexed the area, from which Syrian snipers had for years leisurely fired at the Israeli farmers working their fields in the kibbutzim below, killing 140 Israelis.

5. Operation 'Opera' Took Out Saddam's Reactor: 30 Year Anniversary

by INN Staff

Thirty years ago Tuesday, on Sunday, June 7, 1981, eight IAF F-16s and and six F-15s took off from the IAF's Etzion Base in northern Sinai. Their destination was the Iraqi nuclear plant at Al-Tuweitha, near Baghdad.

The youngest F-16 pilot was Captain Ilan Ramon, 25. He volunteered to fly last in the attack formation -- the most dangerous position -- because he had no wife or children.

The strike made history and denied Iraq's Saddam Hussein his dream of nuclear weapons. He was eventually toppled and executed after the US led a coalition force into Iraq.

An animation created in 2003, in the months leading up to the coalition's invasion, tells the story of that strike. By a stroke of chance, it was put online just days after the tragic death of Ilan Ramon, Israel's first astronaut, on board the space shuttle Columbia.

The animation by Gil Ronen was viewed at the time by over 250,000 people, including numerous people within the US political leadership and defense establishment -- the same ones who decided to finish the job Israel had started 22 years earlier and rid the world of the danger that Saddam Hussein would ever use weapons of mass destruction against other countries.

Israel bombed a site it claimed was a fledgling nuclear reactor in Syria several years ago.  The International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, recently corroborated Israel's claim, but condemned Israel for destroying the site instead of filing a complaint.

6. It's Official: Truck Murderer Charged with Terrorism

by Hillel Fendel

The Arab truck driver who ran down 18 people and killed one last month has been charged with terrorism.

The indictment was served this morning in the Tel Aviv District Court against Isa Islam, 23, of Kafr Kasm, an Israeli-Arab city near Rosh HaAyin.  Islam is already charged with one count of murder and several counts of attempted murder.

The attack occurred on May 15 - which Arabs in Israel and the PA mark, often with violence, as the "Day of Catastrophe" because of the State of Israel's establishment on that date. Islam, a truck driver, went on a rampage in which he crashed his vehicle into a bus and several cars over the course of about a mile in southern Tel Aviv. His wild run ended just outside the gates of an elementary school.

Islam claimed that he lost control of his truck because of a flat tire, and that he did not have any Arab nationalist motives. At least one eyewitness, however, said he made eye contact with the driver and saw clearly that it was pre-meditated. Some witnesses said they heard him yell "Allahu Akhbar,” a Jihad cry. A journalist covering the event said cynically, “I never saw a mile-long accident before…” It took the Prosecution nearly four weeks to determine that the attack was, in fact, pre-meditated and motivated by terrorism. This careful, lengthy examination of the events points to this accusation being based on facts not known to the general public.

Killed in the terrorist rampage was Aviv Morag, 29, of Givatayim, who was to have been married next month.

7. Coalition Coalescence in Tzfat

by Hillel Fendel

The Galilean city of Tzfat (Safed), which has managed to remain out of the political limelight ever since it was captured by Israel in the 1948 War of Independence, will not be able avoid it this coming Sabbath, when dozens of coalition Knesset Members spend a "Sabbath of coalition coalescence" there.

The two-day weekend visit at the Ruth Rimonim Hotel will be the coalition's first joint social event since it took over the reins of government more than two years ago. The idea was that of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his wife Sarah. The goal is to strengthen the coalition, as well as the government's commitment to developing northern Israel in general and Tzfat in particular.

The event will begin Friday afternoon with an official welcome by the Netanyahus, accompanied by a Klezmerim performance, displays of Tzfat artworks, and a Dona Gracia live museum exhibit. Tsfat is the location of a Klezmer Festival every summer.

The Friday eve Sabbath dinner will be hosted by popular linguist Dr. Avshalom Kor, after which journalist Kobi Arieli will MC a panel discussion.

The next morning will feature both prayer services and tours of the city, once the center of mystic Torah learning in its scenic Old Quarter, including a reenactment of the 1948 battles.

8. Call to Cut US Funding to UN if it Approves PA State

by Hillel Fendel

The chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Middle East subcommittee has introduced a non-binding resolution to cut U.S. funding to the UN if it unilaterally approves a PA state.

U.S. Congressman Steve Chabot (R-Ohio), the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Middle East subcommittee in the U.S. House of Representatives, has introduced a non-binding resolution to cut U.S. funding to the UN if it unilaterally approves a Palestinian Authority state.

The resolution calls on the Secretary of State to withdraw American funding for the UN General Assembly if it “adopts a resolution in favor of recognizing a state of Palestine outside of or prior to a final status agreement negotiated between, and acceptable to, the State of Israel and the Palestinians.”

Chabot’s measure has not yet garnered co-sponsors, but Chabot says he expects a “significant number” of his colleagues to support it when Congress returns to session next week.

Jonathan S. Tobin, editor of Commentary Magazine, wrote this week a strong endorsement of the resolution – but added that it should be merely “the first shot” fired in the struggle to ensure that the UN does not approve the controversial PA state.

Instead of simply “worrying about what will happen” in the UN General Assembly this September, Tobin writes, and instead of threatening only to veto the resolution, the U.S. must take concrete steps to make sure that the UN body does not approve a unilateral PA state. In addition to threaten to cut funding to the UN, Tobin states, the PA itself must be targeted:

“Congress should also be focusing on the fact that by signing a unity pact with the Hamas terrorists, the Palestinian Authority has rendered itself ineligible for the hundreds of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars that it continues to receive.”
